Yiannis' Albi Blue R27 - Toning down...

are the bolts on the rear dampers/springs uprated ones?

dont fancy all that suspension load going through the original damper mounts on the rear axle

Where did you send your interior bits to get them painted? Was it expensive to get everything done? Also, were the H&R's really bad for the handling or were they just as good as the standard cup setup? I really want to lower mine but can't really afford a full coilover kit at the mo. I don't do track use or anything.

which spring rate have you chose yannis?

80nm front and 110nm back matey.

I don't think I can answer that Foxspeed. Very good point though...

Sprayshack here did the job mate. He is a trader in here and I did most of the work on a group buy. Overall it was a bit pricey yes but I would do it again if you ask me. Regarding H&Rs there are several reviews on this forum, divided opinions, some people like them some not. It depends what you want from the car really:smile:

Some bits and pieces done today. I went to Mark Fish to sort the little droop travel of the suspension, plus a knocking noise of the top mounts and investigating the pulling to the left ''phenomenon''.

We had some spacers ordered from AST.

A little bit but significantly more droop travel

And here Mark doing the tracking. He literally spent hours on the car but we still didn't manage to understand why the car is pulling to the left. I guess this is another Renault mystery. I was really hoping to get it sorted thought because next week I'm going for a roadtrip to the Italian, Swiss and Austrian Alps. I guess I'm gonna have to live with it...

And again, loads of cars in Mark's garage. A renault Alpine (only 20 here in UK) which I hadn't ever seen in the flesh. It looked the business and it was also mint. According to Mark the owner uses it as it should be used, sprints, hill climbs etc.

Also there was a Ferrari 575 Maranello special edition there (the one with paddle shifts and ceramic brakes), an exige, several clio racers and.....a lawn mower lol

Thanks for looking people.

Looks nice mate.. Is that a rev counter out of the 200 I'm interested in doing that how did you do it without messing the mileage up

Hello all! I just came back from my 12 days ''car abuse'' trip in Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Swiss, Belgium). Great fun, briliant stuff, some good stories written on various stunning passes (Stelvio included of course), twisty roads etc, the weather was phenomenal and most importantly the car made me proud (apart from a knackered exhaust last day).

The new set up has really tranformed the car. Smooth roads, dodgy B-roads, bumpy roads bring them all. Endless amounts of grip, extremely stable under braking, immense turn in. As a result.. I could easily keep up with the big boys on downhills or twisties where you can carry speed, definitely not the case on steep uphills/hairpins though, simply not enough power/torque and so much weight:worried:

Anyhow, the company consisted of a lotus elise S2 k-series, lotus elise S1 k-series, lotus exige supercharged and a porsche 993. Here is a TINY selection of the excess of 3,000 pics we took between us! Hope you like them.
