Racing Blue R27 392/500 - 24/04/15 Polished up/Recaro bases changed over

Thankfully, the vast majority. Both have been outstanding through the whole process so far. I have added some cost on with saying i want a new clutch and lower engine sway bar but to me it just made sense to get those bits done now and save worrying later.

Thats good news mate, its about time someone found a decent stealer

Now the Clio is back i have been driving pretty careful on the new engine for about 800 miles and then started gradually building the revs up abit.

Smiths Renault advised that keeping the engine under 3500-4000 rpm for the first bedding in phase would be best so this is what i have done.

After about 800 miles i raised the revs a bit every now and again to around 5-5500 rpm.

Since then to be honest the car has been a joy to drive and is booked in on thursday for fresh oil as advised to do so after the bedding in has taken place. Now i will be able to open the beast up gradually more and more again

Ofcourse getting it back prompted some swift photos to be taken with a few friends and so onwards we go..........

Awesome photos these in my opinion!

Thanks dudes!

They are like you said, awesome photos. 197 is definately the best looking of the 3.

Looks so mean with it being that low. Do you ever have any problems with it being that low? Eg. Multi story car parks etc?

Thanks dude! It does look good being that low yes  i like the slight rake from front to back it has on it. TDF set it that way.

Funny you should say about problems getting into multi story car parks.......those photos were taken on the top of one! Got in fine, no issues.

It's hard to not buy coilovers for the 200 seeing as everyone is now going for them. They do afterall look so damn good.

The stance is very Red Bull F1. Quite a rake. Awesome.

Yes it is haha! The photos all show the drivers side of the car and not the passenger side. Now the coilovers have bedded in, the drivers side needs to come up about 2-3mm to make it level with the other side.

I would rather that than adjust the passenger side lower. This is something i will do soon with the C spanner! Or maybe take to TDF and they can do laser aligning at the same time as adjustment which probably makes sense.

Think this thread has made me decide to spend next months OT on coilovers :zomg:

It just has to be done. I said from the start to myself that there was just no way after seeing a lowered 197 (Jases at the time) that i would be going on with normal ride height. Its just such a different car to drive now even on just V1's, they are perfect for fast road railing (and i mean RAILING!!!)

Never looked back tbh.

I have V1s on my Corsa and they make it so much more aggresive.

Think I'll go for the H&Rs for the 200 though. Just incase I wanna go that little bit lower at the rear. They are also slightly stiffer sprung than the V1s so would suit the few trackdays I do per year a wee bit better.

Either way, a 197/200 on coilovers (Particularly this one) is the shexx!

Yes i agree if your doing track days to go H&R. I did consider them myself but i dont think i would ever see the benefit on the road. These are stiff enough to be honest! Sometimes i get in it and think why on earth did i do it............till i get to the next corner atleast.

Picture are amazing Dan great photography and best of great cars and the 197 looks immaculate mate you should be proud.

Thanks dude! The pictures really are stunning.

I try to keep the 197 in the mintest condition possible. I have some work to do on the passenger side front upper grill though. Rumour has it some bloody polish got on it!

We all know thats a nightmare!

Tell me about it mate when the polish gets on their its a knightmare to get it off. might sound abit daft but peanut butter works a treat to get it off mind you mate or baby wipes which have a certain oil in them which removes it lol.

Oh really! You utter beast!

Thanks for the advice!

Looks awesome mate, hows the engine going??

Hello!

Engine is going well! It seems to be bedding in nicely so far!

In Renault tomorrow morning for oil change then will go back to normal service intervals!

Should be good, might sound odd but I do quite enjoy just dropping it off at Smiths Renault and letting them sort bits out knowing they will take good care of it, just stress free to be honest!
