Great news that the springs worked and arent bad in the rain either?

What settings did you start with on the shocks after changing springs?

I saw you said you raised the subframe, how did you do that? Solid bushes? Where did you get them?
We were on 4 clicks from hard front and back most of the day for dampers.

If you were going full race car I could see why you might go even stiffer at the rear but the turn in was great and it was really stable as well.

the subframe just has solid subframe mounts from PMS

Nice. I currently have the front somewhere around the middle and rears anywhere from full hard to 5 from hard depending on the track/hill.

I have actually just ordered those bushes lol. Didn’t know they had the cup racer spec to move the subframe.

I didn’t think the pure ones actually adjusted the height of the subframe?

I have had time to sort out some of the video footage captured from last week.

This is the master v apprentice for our respective best laps of the day.

@EthanMenace 's fastest lap

My fastest lap

The drivers side arch/bumper is wearing more and more. This is how it looks after Snetterton. The softer springs are not going to prevent the natural rubbing and the arch/bumper will probably get worse. The passenger side is not suffering as badly as the drivers side. I did quickly measure the ride height of the car on both sides yesterday on a floor that is not perfectly flat and both sides measure 610mm from the floor to the top of the curve on the arch. I would guess that the rubbing is slightly worse on the drivers side due to most circuits having more right had turns than left hand turns.

After seeing Wes' car we are thinking about stripping the interior of the car. I am all for it but Ethan is still not 100% convinced. We know the weight of a passenger around Snetterton adds about 3 seconds to a lap time in our Clio so the car losing some weight has its advantages.

I am not sure that we will fit in any more track days this year. I am changing my job so it is going to be very difficult to get any time off over October or November 2024 and by that time of the year the weather will be very wet and cold. That is unless @EthanMenace decides to do a solo track day. I like a cheap winter track day but I might wait until the new year for the next outing.

There are still a few tasks to sort out over the next few months and in to very early next year. The car needs an oil change. The MOT is due in November 2024. The hubs will be refurbished. Although we had thought about putting some Megane 250 calipers on the car we are likely not to bother now due to the increased running costs without seeing a massive difference in performance.

Meg callipers actually are a massive difference!!
Ask any of the lads when we’re next out.
Surprised to hear that! I was under the impression it would just be a bit of extra heat dissipation and we don’t seem to have any issues with brake temps on track.

did you have them on yours?

I notice that my car pushes the front bumper out slightly where it meets the arch (mostly drivers side too). I haven’t bothered mounting it more strongly as I feel if it pushes out it wont wear as much lol

Stripping the car makes it so much more enjoyable to drive, a light car is so good. Although I don’t drive mine on the road.

I have to agree with @RSRowe, the meg caliper upgrade was a massive difference for me. I run 330mm godspeed disks. I don’t know how much of an upgrade it is if you already run 330mm disks with Clio calipers, maybe not much? I went from stock clio calipers and disks to 330mm disks and megane calipers with the same PBS pro race pads in both setups, imo unreal pads for the price.
