    Yesterday at Bedford

First time out on Yokohama AD08s yesterday and can't praise them highly enough. They didn't melt like my last PE2s, and were very progressive. I've dialled into the 200 a bit more now, the rear is becoming a trusted friend that in my hands only occasionally needs correction. Still much more to...

12,000 mile ownership review + what it's cost

I've just clicked over 12,000 miles since I first sat in my 200 back in December, so thought I'd post a little write up of its life in my hands to date. I came to the 200 following 8 years of 172 Cup ownership, from new back in 2003. Prior to the Cup I'd never been into any kind of...

    0-100

NZYNb8mxTLc 29.5k miles, 100% standard, 99 fuel, Michelin PE2s up front. 18 seconds or so, about right? Can't stop driving it at the moment...love it.

If only 200s sounded like this

79-NPjnMNpI Picked it up today £500 lighter after front hub replacement following its first MOT. Couldn't resist taking it out to, ahem, test the alignment out.

Front suspension lower ball joint failure?

Just about 3 years old, 29.5k miles, MOT on Friday and it failed on excessive play in the NSF, and got an advisory for slight play in the OSF lower ball joint. Mike at Rentech in all his years working on 197s and 200s has never had to change them so I'm a bit gutted to say the least...

    Standard induction ROOOAAAR

A new audio mic arrived recently and I thought it'd be rude not to stick it up the airbox inlet and give it a run. Love it. Lj0yE72okGU At Bedford on 18th August so will try it out on a few sessions.

    My first datalogged trackday

I'm very happy with the result :D The G meter's good, has shown me some areas that need work though. Going back to Llandow in September so can try again around the same circuit to compare. Still can't quite get over the whole setup to do this cost me £30 in total. Amazing. AbNu1kRiwHg

    A very wet trackday

Went to Llandow Circuit on Thursday to a trackday organized by Tony and Jay of Burpspeed.com, mostly Clios there with a few other makes thrown in for good measure. Day was good, track was good, etiquette was good, South Wales weather was not! Only my second trackday since I got it so am...

Running a Clio RS 200 - true costs of ownership

I expect you'll all get bored of this long before I do, but I intend to keep this going for as long as I own my 200 (likely to be at least 5 years). I'll update it periodically, and it will hopefully be a useful guide for anyone pondering 'can I afford one?'. Car : Clio Renaultsport 200...

    Suspension change all round...how long?

Assuming all necessary tools are to hand, with practice how long would it take to change springs and dampers on all four corners?

    The damage...

A mate who repairs cat C/D write offs thinks so, without too much trouble or cost either. Hope so, the noise it makes when opening/closing makes me wince every time! 68YZbiC3bAI

Argh! My 200 f***** by the wind!

Opened the drivers door, a huge gust of wind gets hold of it, I grabbed the handle...but with no leverage it got ripped out of my hand and then the door proceeded to try and meet the front wing :( Door closes and locks OK, but needs pressure to close it properly. Doesn't seat as it should...

Clio RS 200 - real life running costs

Picked up the 200 at the beginning of December 2011, the last fill up took me past 6,000 miles. Since I got it I've recorded every single penny spent on fuel, insurance, VED, consumables, tools, cleaning shizzle, accessories, and trackdays. Going to keep this going so will post updates as the...

After 4 months with my 200, an answer...

...to the question...should I run my 200 on higher octane fuel? I've done some science, and come up with the following... Firstly, the accountant in me is obsessed with working out the true cost to me of this car, so from day one I have religiously recorded every penny spent using Fuel Log...

    Anyone else have parking sensors?

My 200 came from an OAP couple who'd owned from new so spec wise I had to take it as is. It came with; Parking sensors...that's it. Realised today...I don't think I've ever seen another one that has them...either in real life or on here/cliosport.net. So...does anyone else have...

    Standard head unit lacks balls?

I know mine is just the standard fit head unit, but this is an alleged top-of-the-range car, and it's ability to make noise is laughable. My wife's Scenic Dynamique, needs 12 or so on the standard head unit volume setting to get some decent audio going, yet in my 200, I need 25+ to get the...

    Today's rolling road results

Not quite what I hoped for but meh...I still love the way it drives. I blame the first owners, OAPs who've likely spent its first 18k miles at less than 3k rpm...so I'll just have to keep piling the miles on, and giving it a regular beasting. More trackdays this year will help I'm sure...

    Where's the OBD post on a 200/197?

On my 172 Cup it was beneath the ashtray. Just had a quick look around my 200 in the dark and couldn't find it. Don't want to start ripping the interior apart!

    Lane discipline!

Thought I'd better put some miles on the new PE2s, get them scrubbed before the blast to work on Monday so went out for a gentle blast and came across these two. Argh! :@ That is all. RZSzIpE0D-s
