F**k me, I thought my Ktec cat-back was loud, that'll be crazy!

any tips from anyone to quietten the boomyness of the k-tec at 2k revs and on the motorway?

ha ha and you where 2 cars in front si (iirc),poor grumpytwig must have thought he was being shot at behind me,had the back seats down and parcel shelf off the other week,what a fudging noise!!! seriously wish i could strip it out,bloody kids!!!

Hi guys I literally just had a K-tec cat back system fitted a week ago, the sound is amazing. On the lower speeds you get used to just touching the accelerator so no drowning noise and just over 70 on the motorway you can't even hear it. Put your foot down and wow. Only hick up I had was by the time I got home it had shifted to the right and tapping on my heat shield and diffuser. I took the diffuser off and tapped it back to position, added 2 jubilee clips to the inside of each locator rods which go through the hangers. Job done and no movement at all, great system

I've just brought a r27 with ktec and decat, was surprised how loud it is and how good it sounds ! Originally wanted a milltek and decat, anyone know if that would be as loud as the ktec ?

milltek won't be as loud as your ktec system mate,no chance

Thanking you alot! I guess there isn't a performance manifold option, that's why you bought the Y pipe, or are they just really expensive

i haven't seen a performance manifold for these cars but i wouldn't have thought there would be a market for one as the standard manifold is more than capable

I followed him round Bedford Circuit and fudge me its got loudness of epic proportions.

there's some vids in a thread called "Y Pipe sounds" or something like that,there not the best but you can hear the popping and banging in some of them,it does sound way better in real life though,

as for power,virtually next to nothing bhp wise but it did give me 13lbft of torque mid range at one point

Quality wise I can't fault it, people used to slate Milltek for bad quality but mine is standing the test of time and abuse, had the system on for just over 18 months and covered nearly 40k with it.

I thought the quality of the welds were shocking ... i wouldnt buy a miltek again if i had the opportunity.

Saying that it does sound good but not as loud as i hoped. I added the decat in the end and when hot and running octane booster you get some awesome pops and bangs.

i got mine from Prima Racing as they were the cheapest in the UK that i could find (paid £480 delivered) Feb 2012 when it was purchased.

can i ask why you put octane boost in mate?

i asked a very well known mapper if this would help to prevent engine damage and increase power slightly on spirited drives and he laughed in my face and said,only if i've mapped it with the octane boost in,if not you'll lose power...
