Is it me or are we losing more Clio's than we are gaining???

True what your saying litchy, new joiners mean nothing unless they get involved, I am for one thinking of looking else where

The running costs of the 197 is what forced it out of me, it was the cost that made me fall out of love with it (and swapping it for a Fiesta ST for a month).

But I have a 182, yes it has cost me quite a bit this month, but still love her to bits

And true about the members...doesn't matter what car you have, all are welcome  (even VXR's  )

Its a phase all forums go through. Established members move on and it takes the newbies a little bit to have the confidence to post/attend meets.

The sites been through a number of these phases and just keeps going from strength to strength.

Just taking a look at the members list, you'll realise how many established members have moved on. But then theres all the new folk.

that can be levelled at many cars...

Yah obviously! I think it's an age thing as well though, 197/200's are probably a bit too expensive to insure as a youngster still, but as people progressively get older, they think about selling it to make way for family things (buying a house etc)...or moving onto something a little more "grown up".

Needless to say, that doesn't apply to everyone.

some of the insurance quotes/prices given by members on here are very cheap I would say...

Renault parts prices are not that cheap unless your on good terms with the dealers and the repairs are at times a bit specialised/costly

mpg for the performance is now getting uncompetitive but for what they offer £££/fun is still a great combination

I'm a pensioner and can't afford a 197 but still not letting it go.It will rise from the ashes one of these days with me behind the wheel. The first tank of over priced petrol won't last long

There has been loads!! Seems wierd, but feels at it's best now, good bunch in here! Think I'm one if the oldest members now, been on here since the original 197.net, bet only a handful remember that lol!

Its a horrid cycle but at times things change and its often a case of if ya can ride out whatever storm is making you sell. Its been at the back of my mind for a few weeks and a couple of test drives later the 200 was looking as a favorite to get part ex'd

But then a run to the coast last weekend saw a smile return to compensate for all the kangaroo mornings sat in traffic with a cold engine and the poor mpg :worried:

Time to say goodbye to the X-Type and Hello to a XF

Have to agree with this. It's natural to loose a few members every now and then, so long as there's a decent attitude/environment around the site though it'll be fine.
