Kockhill and the damage to the oils

went to the track day at knockhill that was organised by mike, it was brilliant thank you for all the effort you went to to get it all running smoothly mike!.

the car handled brilliantly a lot to do with the R1Rs and the braces i think! no need for fancy suspension the factory items are more than up to the task, lap times were coming out at about 1:10/1:12, i thought that was quiet fast for my first time round

the backs were getting used!

gearbox oil at only 12,500 miles, how this is meant to be for life is beyond me, also looked like there was metal flakes through it like a metallic paint should i be worried?

and this was the engine oil after only 7000 miles

these are two videos i got off the go pro
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMvE44-EkbE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErxSd_eo4eo

the second one is better

the gearbox has a magnet in it to collect metal...the metallic flakes you see will most likely be the non magnetic pieces ie bits of the synchro/baulk rings
which are usually brass

is it an issue - well it can be if they wear enough as you will loose gears being synchronised (ie gears going crunch)

Car sounds brilliant, we need to get another one of these days sorted. Gutted I missed out !

it was a really good day out like! ill have to see if i can get the same result if i organics one now haha, cheers still think it could be a bit nicer thinking supersprint

UPDATE (tyres+V6 box)

Well I got my tyres on and can say I will be buying them again, takes a bit to get used to the grip and the bedding in time takes a few 100 miles not much at all! Good bye ****isports!

V6 BOX
after one failed at temped if fitting it I tyres again with some help from Angel (thank you a lot!) I bought a 90degree elbow 76mm to 67mm pipe from autosiliconehoses.com on Monday night and got it today I took 15mm off each end seemed to be enough as it fit ok but was to long the way it came, it's now all fitted and I'm away to try it out!

So in short save you're self some money and just buy a V6 box a filter and an elbow haha

The cable that reaches the battery, looks like they still reach to the smaller battery fine? I've got a V6 airbox on the way and didn't want to have to pull at the wiring to connect it up.

EDIT: Do you also have it on a fixed bracket or is it just kind of sat on something that was already there then fixed to that?

There was one negative battery lead that I had to extend but it wasn't that much at all maybe 300mm just to give you room to move it if you needed to. And the 80amp fuse in one if the boxs the lead to it was a bit stretched but I didn't extend it I keep meaning to

The bracket is a bit crap tbh big tie wraps will do the job better that's what I used and have had no problems at all with it

No problem!

atm I'm waiting on a renflash and in the near future hopefully a super sprint or akro exhaust and long term ITBs at some point!

Na not yet Craig, But it should be in today here's hopping anyway. Andy at Ktec was really helpful about the whole thing
