Thanks - that sounds like good advice. We are using two sets of 7.5j Speedlines so apart from the wheel weights hopefully there will be no other fitment issues.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll double check the wheel weights when it all goes on.
What difference did you find? Having never experienced it I’m just assuming bigger means more heat dissipation. Does it feel different as well?

I just found much better braking performance. I changed from the standard calipers on 312mm discs to the 330mm discs and megane calipers.
Exact same PBS pro race compound of pads on the old and new setup. I really like these pads on the Clio for the price.
After fitting I took a spin down the road and stood on the brakes to test and bed in the pads etc and couldn’t believe the stopping power difference.

@EthanMenace has found out what the problem was with the brakes at Donington Park on Friday.
We did not check the driver's side front disc at the time and only checked the passenger side front disc.
There are two large cracks on the driver's side disc.
The cracks both go through to the centre vented section. This is the passenger side front disc that does not have any cracks.
I think that we put these Godspeed G hook discs on in March 2024. I am happy that we have got our moneys worth out of them. This is what they looked like when they were new.
The front drivers side wheel was caked in brake dust on Friday so the cracks would explain the noise, vibrations and excessive dust.
The car is back up on axle stands. The front and rear discs have been taken off. We ordered new Godspeed discs on Friday evening and I have already had an e-mail to say that they will be delivered on Tuesday. New rear pads have arrived already from FrogJam Motorsport.
The Megane 3 callipers were dug out of the shed earlier today. In the photo below the Megane calliper is on the left and the 200 calliper is on the right. There is not a massive difference in size between them, but they are bigger, and the perspective of the photo makes them look about the same size.
Ethan spent some time today removing the seals and pistons from the Megane callipers ready for a rebuild when the new seals arrive this week.
In other news today Alex from AW Motorworks sent us a text today saying that the gearbox issue may be clutch drag and it would be a good idea to bleed the clutch.

Haven't had any issues yet other than the tyre place not being able to balance the wheel. The machine they had said the weight must go out towards the face and if you didn't put it there and put it further inside it threw it off. Not sure if that would be common with all balancers or not.
Its worth noting I usually do hillclimbs and sprints so they don't normally get very hot. I have done one trackday though with loads of track time and had no issues then either.

The new brake parts have now arrived.
The new Godspeed front belles and discs look big at 330mm but they are only very slightly bigger than a standard Clio 200 312mm disc.
This is one of the old smaller discs sitting on top of one of the newer bigger discs.
The front belles and discs have come supplied with calliper spacers and calliper bolts. Godspeed have also sent some new hub nuts and covers.
The Megane 3 sized Ferodo DS1.11s clearly have a bigger contact area than the Clio sized pad (Clio pad on the left).
We also have a calliper rebuild kit from Kam Racing. The pistons are already out of the Megane 3 callipers and look to be in good condition other than they are a bit dirty.
This is a photo I stole from Facebook that shows the difference between the two callipers.
Once the brakes are on the car and bedded in the clutch needs a good bleed.

Oh they have updated their caliper spacer, when I got mine years ago it was just two rectangles of alu per side, I like that yours are joined to be one piece per side.
I ran them with PBS pro track on my last clio

The Godspeed discs suggest that they should be bedded in with about 250 gentle road miles.
The front and rear brake pads are DS1.11s and to bed them in usually we block up the brake ducts at the front of the car and go out on to a dual carriageway late at night and do about 15 to 20 hard stops from about 60mph down to 20mph. This gets the front pads nice and hot to the point that they are smoking.
So the brake pads want an aggressive bedding in session but the discs want a gentle bedding in session.
We could put some older RPX pads on at the front of the car to bed in the discs with some commuting miles to and from work this week and then swap out the old RPX pads for the new DS1.11 pads to bed in the front DS1.11s.
What do people suggest?
