Not for dead, but at Bedford I was gaining on the straight  when it's at 350 It will be bye bye time lol

Are you going to Bedford? I'll race ya lol

Trust me 16,000 hp with a wet surface and full power ends in a big bang.

I've tried it and it did. North Pole we not impresses.

What did Jamsports rollers say then? 500? 600??? Or had they been working on one of their own "projects" and it came up with 1200????

:wink::wink::wink::wink:

No it's getting forged. Read back a few pages mate.

Im not racing on track, i was all over Megane trophys at Bedford. Only place they were slightly better was the tight stuff because I don't have a diff, on the straights I was pulling.

I don't have 16000 hp I have 260, big difference. Wouldn't pass judgment, you've never driven a s/charged 197. There are plenty of people on here that have been in it, road and track or watched it and are very impressed.

I'm not really sure what your getting at tbh mate.

I'm not having a go mike, i know where to put fuel, oil and screen wash and i can change a wheel.

That is my limit.

all this technical stuff is way over my head, people talk of forged this and throttle boddies that and i wouldn't know if they are changing parts or adding new stuff to it.

I just wouldn't want you to put all the time and money in for it to go bang for a few more hp.

I wouldn't race anyone on track, i usually pull over and let people get away or pass to find my own space. Racing only ends one way imo.

I was asking because i'd be interested in been talked through it so you can point and i know what might be what. Unless you know what something does and what difference it makes (which i don't) then your wasting your breath.

iirc clio cup race cars run around 215 which is why i guessed at it.

NO OFFENCE WAS INTENDED.

I'm not offended just sounds like your having a bit of a go lol

Forging makes the engine stronger so it won't go bang. Depending on manufacturer can cope with 600bhp+ so that eliminates that. The charger is forced induction, hence why with a forged engine we are going for bigger figures. But not mental ones because I can't afford to change my box and clutch lol

Stick the strongest pistons and rods in the world in but you'll still have OEM parts having to deal with the punishment. Cylinder heads can crack, head gaskets can blow and crankshafts can bend like bananas. Failing that look back down the drivetrain, these gearboxes fail prematurely with 180bhp!

With any heavy modification work it's not a simple case of throwing loads of money at it makes it bomb proof and that's speaking from experience.

The scene needs people like you though, who have the balls to really push the boundaries so the rest of us know what's capable. Out of pure interest how are you controlling oil temp? I assume your running low comp pistons, what's the drivability like off low down driving and cruising?

Yeah I agree Ben, but the car has withstood everything so far even (touch wood) the gearbox and it's done 73k!! it's getting new gaskets I believe, for oil I'm not sure it's got an oil breather/cooler thing on. Even in hot temps with endless thrashing it's been great, it's had 3 hard track days and I've not held back.

I'm aware if other issues as I'm sure you are but sometimes u just have to believe its gonna work lol! This is why I'm not going mental, cams back in, rev limit will be at 7.8 but I will rarely take it that far, more like between 7-7.5. And as its forged why not go down a pully size  the outcome will be interesting, I don't care on figures I'm just gauging on the fiestas, either way it will be a screamer and mental! The figures are just a bit of fun really, I've only done it in this thread for fun  but there's no doubting that being able to say I have 350 in a Clio will be amazing!

Low speed and cruising it's great, easy to drive. It coughs at 2.5 revs at about half throttle, low throttle ok as is full, but this is a mapping issue and no worries of it being rectified. We've just been focusing on raising the revs and keeping the engine running sweet so now this has proved itself the final tweaks can be done

All good fun like yours mate lol!!

Yeah fortunately you fitted forged internals before yours blew up, I did mine in a slightly different order lol :tongueout:

Lol gotta test the boundaries tho bud, I'm sure when yours is run in it will be awesome!

i see, i have a forged airgun socket set but as they are grey i just thought they were different material

so in think as terms

what have you had done? and what does it do?

is it still the clio engine then? although i though it was the same as the meg? some fr4 thing?

can you tell i've owned a 172, 182, 197, 200 (still got) and a 265 trophy, lol i'm just glad we have some cracking dealers round here.
