Chris's LY 200t.

Think its about £400-500 at RST.

Then another £200 for induction... £400-500 for exhaust also, but as I said dont think ill be doing the exhaust.

£345+vat I think, plus around 200 for a universal forge intercooler. You know you want to.

good job replacing the rear discs Chris..a new fluid is always a bonus.bet it brakes like crazy now..
would you have to get a diff intercooler before mapping??
some good suggestions from our members...would the gearbox be up to the job??

Blimey - small update, big replies!

It really does make you question the integrity of Renault dealers when they come out with stuff that blatantly isn't true... I'm assuming they're used to people just blindly agreeing to whatever they're quoted

Interesting dilemma with the map buddy... I know you like to do things 'properly', so I can see why it's a tricky decision I know you've mentioned a map for a long time, so perhaps that's the best way forward... Nice outcome either way

Yeah it stops well with the ds2500s as is but better now with the new rears ok as hey were well past it!

New intercooler is not needed no, but it's when you are chasing figures does it become needed, trying to ween all the power out of it. No issues I've heard yet with the box the only question mark is the clutch with all the extra torque but not heard of one having to be changed yet and there's people with them at nearly 250 bhp.

Hard one mate....

Yeah I was a bit cheesed off with Renault particularly with them supposed to being a renaultsport specialist... but they have always treat me well in the past!

Could have been an inexperienced tech in that instance then, if they're normally good with you... At least it's sorted now though!

thats good news then..is an aftermarket exhaust larger in diameter Chris??if not I'd stick to the standard one and just have the center silencer chopped out..

Not sure about diameters but have read and basically people have who have had it mapped have said just decat and silencer gone for power.

I've personally watched a dealer employee standing outside the car with the door open and his foot to the floor with the car bouncing off the rev limiter in order to warm it up.

Specialist every time for everything.

I once viewed a rare motorbike for sale; that was supposedly the "Best in the UK".

Dealer started it - and it fired up on only 3 of 4 cylinders.

The answer (As above) was to hold in on the limiter in neutral from cold in order to somehow help.

Certainly helped me make my mind up thats for sure............

Oh my...

Guy on here caught the dealers bouncing off the limiter down the road outside of it in his raider...

Unreal. I read a story on a BMW forum once about some guy dropping his car off and walking up the road, was two minutes away and some kid flies past him in his car giving it all it's got.

That wasn't a dealer though.

When you love your cars, finding a garage you trust is worth it's weight in gold.

Mate that's HILARIOUS. He couldn't possibly think that banter was going to get him a sale?

It was parked right in front of a painted white wall dividing wall in the showroom Mes.

Started on three from cold and understandably spluttered a bit.

He held it wide open as it spluttered black coloured moisture and crap out the back of the exhaust and all over the wall......

And i drove from Lowestoft to Preston for that one bike. Another 9 hours i'll never get back.

Absolutely gobsmacked at that story mate. I almost asked about where it was but you didn't mention it so I figured it was local.

Gotta watch those Northern folk mate. All pie heads!

(Disclaimer: I'm Northern)
