The Farrow's Nimbus F1 #472 and Ultra Red 197 *pic heavy*

Finally had a dry day to work on the Clio, all going well until I went to fit the braided brake lines... They accidentally sent me lines for a 182. Returning these and ordered some other ones

On the plus side, I've decided to go for the full kit rather than just the fronts and the short connector pipes, new kit also replaces the rear lines to the calipers too, didn't realise how they ran the lines on the Clio. Also fancied a change of colour

Finally got around to finishing off the brakes! Also ended up ordering different caliper pins as the new Brembo ones instantly bent! Highly recommend the ones with the retaining pins, so much easier to fit, and no faff to remove down the line!

Took the battery off trickle charge, car started up instantly which was nice to see. Just the car couldn't detect either key card. I'm hoping they both need new batteries which are now on order.

In the next week or two the car will finally be sent off to get the rest of the work done. Jade developments reached out to me about getting all the work done so possibly sending to them, Any other recommendations west midlands?

Car is booked in for the 30th of March at Jade Developments. Now we wait...

May do a few small bits in-between

Did a few little bits before the car was sent off, New LED reg lights, Black badges, and replaced all the interior lights to white LED's as most where flickering.

Also had the fun job of removing the old phone holder, somehow the pad had stuck itself to the windscreen? Or my brother glued it on which he denies...

The car has been at the garage this week, MOT passed with only 2 advisories which was good to see! Just waiting for the rest of the work to be completed.

Hopefully have it back next week! Then it needs a proper detail which i'm looking forward to, the paint is currently so dull and contaminated with tree fall

Also will give the headlights a sand and polish, see how they come up before buying new ones

Finally an update! I've gotten my car back from Jade Developments after a long list of work, and it now feels mega! Big props to Sean for getting everything sorted.

The front end feels so tight and responsive after the refreshed suspension components. Still taking it steady as it does have a new clutch and haven't had chance to properly bed in the brakes.

I've got the car booked in for a wheel alignment and AC regas on the weekend, then be onto giving a full proper detail over the bank holiday weekend if the weather permits!

I've also got some new bits ready to go on and a deposit down for something else! But will have to wait for that! Slowly but surely will try and get this car the best it can be

Been a busy bank holiday weekend, progress has been made! A lot of little tidy up jobs ticked off. First of all, gone are those plate holders and old plates... Fresh pressed plates which I ceramic coated before putting on

Next is one of the parts i've been desperate to fit... Always wanted a cup spoiler on my R27 but never got around to it. When Ash was selling one in red, with carbon end plates I had to grab it! The end plates do need a sand down and re-lacquer but that will be for another day

The Cup spoiler just completes the back of the car!

Up next was a full decontamination wash! The wheels are rough and letting down the whole car, years and layers of brake dust. I used my Wheel acid and foam cleaner combo for a super aggressive clean. They will be sent off for a refurbish sooner rather than later!

Not perfect but considering how bad and embedded the dirt was on there, i'll take it!

Next was the rest of the car, this consisted of using a citrus pre-cleaner, a potent snow foam which strips any old waxes and coatings off, pressure wash in all the gaps. A full contact wash, then hit it with a iron and tar remover with snow foam over top to allow the iron to dwell, while that was doing it's thing I used the snow foam as a lubricant to go over the entire car with a clay bar

PXL_20260503_162309134.jpg

Next on the list are the door bullets, these have seen better days and the silver just doesn't suit the look I want, so off they came for some paint! Of course have to clean while your there! Also ordered new side indicator lenses as they are a bit grotty and one is letting water in.

And finally, treated some of the plastic trims with a trim restorer to get some of the black back into the plastics. Not perfect but definitely better!

Still waiting on some other bits to turn up, interior is in of some love and freshening up! Waiting for a few dry days to do that!

Hi all, been noticing a eggy smell coming from the car? Mainly after driving then stopping to park up.

Anyone know what it could be? Been seeing suggestions on Google around the pencil coils/fueling issue?
