Guys I have heard the scorpion Non-Res cat back (for £359) isn't a great fit and has a tendancy to rattle around/melt diffusers? is this true? I was literally about 10 seconds away from buying one and I read somewhere (can't remember where) about it.

Any help would be great as if its false I WILL be buying one at that price!!!

When fitting i noticed the drivers side was a few MM's away from the heatshield so just quickly took off about 1CM at the end, all is perfect not a single issue.

Melting the plastic ive not heard of, have seen this happen with the Ktec ones though.

Ive had my scorpion exhaust since april - no issues. Since fitting have had the diffuser off about 3 times. Had it off last weekend actually as i cleaned behind it, is all completly fine.

very slight one at around 2200 rpm but dont really notice it that bad. Think you can get one when fitting any exhaust though and is always good to get a remap after

I just bolted on a FOX rear silencer. It's stainless steel and fits well. Bargain for 410€ posted (350 of your proprietary island currency)

as it comes with papers and is fully road legal in europe, it's not nearly as loud as a ktr or akra evo system. It is louder than stock though and adds a more deep, growling note to the exhaust sound

fitting is easy. just chop off the original silencer, swap the original hangers to the FOX silencer and mount it with the supplied clamps. the silencer comes in two flavors (197/200) each featuring suiting tail tips already tailored for perfect length (slip on, bolt with clamps, no need to check the length with diffusor off)

good piece of kit

for those who don't do subtle, there's also a suiting mid-silencer delete pipe which completes it to a catback system...

I took my diffuser of the other week to notice that the ktec system has melted my diffuser-not happy

Was a guy at How Fast who had the same problem.

I was only ever going to get the exhaust from Scorpion or Akrapovic - both companies with good reputation and specialise in exhausts (rather than Ktec or similar companies who have just decided to add it to the list of their various products).

Scorpion 200 is new to the market so didnt have much feedback from other to go buy but at £359 i thought id go for it compared to the 1K for akra

pretty sure ktecs exhausts are made by janspeed mate,if its melted the diffuser I wouldn't say that was the fault of the exhaust, more the person who's fitted it badly and not aligned it right

Agree with henderson on this put on right there should be no melting from the K-TEC though i get the odd rattle now and then,Janspeed have been doing exhausts for years and the scorpion looks just like the K-TEC to me.

Steve, I know you went for the non res but did you go for the decat too? Or have you kept the original cat?

Cheers

Fitted my non res cat back scorpion last week and its amazing, pops and burbles on every gear change.
Only thing is it is quite loud not sure ill be able to tolerate it day after day, maybe get a small silencer fitted at some point

fitting was quite easy a mate and myself less than an hour to fit (no blowing at all ) take a wee bit of twisting to get it away from the heat sheilds tho but with two people that ain't an issue.

Ill try and get a video posted at some point also

No scorpion in the poll? Guess ill pick other.

After reading through all of this I'm now torn between TDF, Ktec and scorpion. The Akro would be ideal but I'd rather the money went into other things
I'm praying when I pick it up Saturday and get it back that they'll be surprises waiting for me underneath, who knows!

Will let you all know what I think of the scorpion non-res once its fitted, some of you will get to hear it at FCS anyway no doubt!

interested to know how you find it.

if i change the exhaust i might go for this one - or i might use the money for a lowered seat frame instead...
