Ha! Funny you should say that actually, transpires that they haven’t actually done a good job at all. This is the reason the car isn’t finished yet. The pictures above look impressive (which is why they sent them to me I suppose) but unboxing them at Supreme Motorsport today tells a different story.

I’ll fill in the gaps to this story once it’s resolved but for now I won’t be recommending them (the company are mentioned further up this thread for anyone interested).

That's a shame as I was looking at using them myself. Let us know if you get them done elsewhere, particularly if they do custom finishes.

Here are unedited images from when R27WTF opened the box to install the calipers to my car. I’ll keep my mouth shut and let you draw your own conclusions...

Needless to say these won’t be fitted to my car. Instead I’m chasing a refund and Supreme Motorsport will be having them stripped back, fully rebuilt with all new parts and powder coated instead of painted. It’s costing more, and because of when the powder coaters are open will add a bit more time to the project, but these are nowhere near representative of the quality of the rest of the build.

The company responsible for this work have apologised and offered to repaint them, but that involves paying again for two sets of postage there and back, as well as hoping they come back right. In all honesty, a company that sends this type of work out the door and considers it acceptable doesn’t have my confidence any more so they won’t be going back.

Blimey....

You are right - you can not really "sign off" a job like this and chuck it in the post hoping that the customer won't notice, offering a refund is the minimum they can do really..

All those issues look to be non visible, maybe take the refund and stick them on as is? Save having them reworked?

Doesn’t sit well with me knowing that behind the shiny Brembo logo is chipped paint, blobs under the lacquer and paint all over the mounting and pad surfaces. If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

Still no refund forthcoming.

paint where the pads sit and should have none is a problem. at least taking the paint off in those places would be needed

I totally get were you are coming from on the paint job and what you paid is probably a major factor in your thinking but the paint job is not the end of the world like the above people have said it's not that bad if you look at it again draw a flat file along the slide surfaces and if you want also on the mounting surfaces I would not as the lap round paint on them has less chance of flaking. This is all anyone will see and no one will be on there knees examining them, I bought brand new rear silver carriers as my brakes are silver and they are in less than 5 summer months rusted ends I might as well have cleaned up the originals.

I see your point, if it was a DIY job then I may have been inclined to put them on the car and forget it, but having spent the money I’m spending on this build I’m not going to have scabby brakes let it down at the 11th hour.

PS what colour are the 197 wheels in that last picture? It’s a really nice grey shade.

I'm with you, you've paid good money, I would want a full refund and get them done elsewhere personally too.
With the heat cycles you'll get on track, the poor edging will start to come off and like said above there's bits that shouldn't have any paint (bolt mating surfaces etc).

Glad they're proud enough to advertise them. I wonder if they'd be as proud to advertise the other images?
I'm not losing any sleep over it, Supreme are sorting it and I'm sure they'll be tip-top. Cheers all!

So, moving on, calipers have been stripped back and sent for powdercoating by Supreme Motorsport, they came back yesterday. They will then be built up again using new pistons, seals, bleed nipples, Brembo decals etc:

Matt was waiting for the oil cooler flow and return lines to arrive, they're here and now the oil cooler is fitted:

Jobs left to do:
 • Fit brake hose cooling ducts into fog light holes
 • Fit and bleed brakes
 • New fluids
 • Drive car to geometry place, set ride height, set up front end geo, get a rear end baseline geo reading
 • Order Pure Motorsport shims for rear end once baseline geo is known
 • Fit Pure Motorsport shims
 • Fit carbon dash bits (still waiting for these, the centre console was re-done as they weren't happy with it).
 • Bit of a wiring tweak for the Volantech button panel.
 • Arrange delivery back to me.
Matt might send me some pictures today or tomorrow. Although delivery back to me might have to wait, as we have a lot of snow!
