Keen to know what steps you followed to remove the struts (lots of options seem to be available) ...Hi pal, my car passed mot yesterday and I had a broken spring o/s/f so replaced them with cooksport springs I got from @roscoe on here. They sit really well just to add) I fitted them myself in work, is quite steep for a set of springs fitted, what type of springs is that for ? I know buying them from renault is pricey! Would def get all 4 done at the same time or at very least the 2 that are affected either front or rear as if you fit one the other will most prob be weaker and will prob go in the near future!.
Hi @montana I removed the wiper arms and then I removed the pinch bolts from the struts, the pinch bolts where very tight but a bit of persuasion and they moved. I then disconnected the steering column from under the drivers footwell .then I removed the track rod ends. I then put a transmission stand under the subframe and lower the subframe down about 20 inches enough to give the carriers a chap down of the struts then 3x 13 mm nuts on each side removes the strut from the car. We have a spring compressor in work to change spring the refitted in the same order. All in took about 3 hours. If you need to know anything else just let me know mate.
Rang KTEC and they can get me the parts for £234 (4 Eibach springs). Local garage will fit everything for me for £260.
You don't wanna know how much KTEC charged me to fit Eibach springs all round then.
