Opinions please :-)

I have a Ultra Red 197 with cup spoiler.
I've gloss blacked the front grilles and will be doing the diffuser next week. Also thinking of maybe blacking the door strips aswell.

What would you guys think for wheels. Black or dark grey.

I have a price for drive in drive out at the wheel specialist for about £250.
Is that a good deal and are they trustworthy?

Thanks in advance.

get some pics up and let a few peeps do some photoshopping,

then we can decide,

i would say gloss black wheels but leave the bump strips.

Only really have one pic from the side.
I'm waiting for a new camera.
I just use the iPhone atm and it's pap.
But I'll get one posted when I'm at my comp.
Thanks again

Hi
I also have an UR 197. (with cup spoiler)
currently got gloss black wheels, side mirrors and rear diffuser is drying in the garage.
Also looking at doing the front grilles.
When you can, post a picture up of them please.
I'm not doing my side strips black as it will look like a cup model.
Up to you tho mate.
get some pictures up

Since you've gloss black'd everything else I think it would look silly if you didnt gloss black the wheels.

If you aint gonna do the side strips you should still do the door handles. God knows why Renault made them silver.

Just having my wheels done anthracite on my ur 197. Should be going to collect it tomorrow afternoon, so I'll put some pics up when it's done. I've got gloss black door mirror caps.

This is my car.
Im embarrased to show ya all the pics lol. Ive not taken any proper ones due to waiting on my SLR.

The Grilles were lightly sanded and then primed, then glossed then top coat. I didnt want them really glossy as i thought they would look daft and i still wanted the texture of the plastic visible.

Oh and ive also made it so you cant see the exhaust tip fittings cos i realised they looked crap!

I like the grills. Wouldn't mind those doing like that on my car. Think I'd be thinking about changing the headlights to the black surround projectors. Much better IMO.

They look good. But i think if they were flattened and then glossed they would look daft, too shiney.
Yeh i agree about the headlights, they look too cheap if that makes sense.

I think the way to go is gloss black wheels, gloss black door handles and wrap the mirror covers.
(could do with lowering too but thats a no go due to insurance **complicated matter**)

Did i read that you had a prob with wrappin them Arran?

Yes mate, some cowboy wrapped them for me, waste of money. But at least I got the idea of what they looked like in black, so I bought another set of covers and had them sprayed black.

You got V12 evos on the rear btw? Not sure if it appeals to you or not, but I removed the C L I O badge off the bootlid on mine.

No mate. They are made by lassa (were on when i bought the car two weeks ago)...ive been told they are top end budget tyres, they will be getting changed after next pay day.

Nah im gunna keep the C L I O badge.
How much did you pay for the mirror covers?

That looks really good mate. how did you find it painting the writing on the spoiler? was it off the car?

Im worried that black wheels will look tiny seen as though i cant lower it, Id put some small spacers on if it would stop them looking like they have been eaten by the arches but i dont think thats a solution either.

What ya think...

Yeah got it painted red then hand painted the black, then put it on the car.

Didn't think my wheels looked any bigger with silver wheels personally.
The car does need spacer I think, but only about 15/18mm any think more and I think it to much but that my opinion.

Grilles are really easy. I did what Jase told me to do and just pull them from the bottom edge, takes a fair bit or force but it doesnt feel like owt will break.

I used Hycote products.
