19,600 miles on my 200 and it is in need of a new gearbox :worried: going to have to buy one off the famous auction site new and get a local garage to fit as I cannot afford Renaults prices :worried:

What has renault said? They should be contributing most of the cost, especially since it's only done less than 20k!

Haven't phoned them yet, cos I really don't want to face the "sorry won't do anything for you" as the previous owner didn't get all the cars work done in Renault garages. But in saying that I bought the car a month and a half ago with 15k on it, and it crunched into second whilst driving it properly. Have not driven hard since as I don't want to risk anything, and I have serviced the car at a local garage in my ownership already because I can't live with oil any older than 3k in an engine. Do you reckon they would contribute then? I haven't really looked at how much of the servicing has been done in Renault, but I know the majority of it got done at a specialist.

What Rouge said.

Why didn't you phone up the garage you bought it from straight away? Also changing oil every 3,000 miles is mental on a road car.

I got a new box a couple of weeks ago on the warranty , the mechanic drove it with me and and said yeah i can see your problem haha , then a week later there was a new gearbox and slave cyclinder in :cloud9:

by the way if you know someone who sell a megane 225 engine with motor wiring, ECU, injectors, turbo, exhaust manifold, etc PM me, because i'm new and i don't have access to the thread with parts for sale. thanks again.

Bought a 200 a few months back and is really hard to get into gear one/reverse when the engine is cold, after awhile it becomes easier but still had a little issue getting in.. Any ideas?
