Alien Green 200 Cup *** New AG 200 (number 3) from page 85***

get your foot down they good in the wet to!!

did they give you a price to do the meg job?would it be better just buying a meg rather than looking for parts that might not work.

Just gotta find the parts needed ie. engine, gearbox, loom etc. they can rebuild the engine if needs be. He also said he doesn't know why a 250 engine wouldn't fit.

Said mounting the engine would probably required custom mounts etc but didn't see why it wouldn't fit.

250 will fit i asked when i was at RS tuning,be pricey like!

I don't imagine itll be cheap but it's what I want in the long run for the green one. Shouldnt feel as expensive if the parts buying is spread out over a couple of years.

Early signs are good regarding tyres. Much less road noise than the Contis. Also very good in the monsoon conditions we've had all day.

Had the green one up at Knockhill this evening for the reverse trackday. Can safely say that everything you know about the normal way around can be forgotten as its a totally different track in reverse. Also, it was monsoon conditions the whole time.

How did the 200 perform? Well, flawlessly once the brakes decided to work lol. For some reason it took a good 5 laps before they would bite with any sort of aggression. Not reasurring when your heading into the hairpin at over 100mph lol.

Anyhow. Once the brakes started to work she flew. With it being so wet it meant that us little Clios (Chubbysdad from here was their in his LY R27, the K-Tec 280bhp Meg powered 197 was there and a wee Trophy) were very much able to keep up with the big boys and in a lot of instances pass them.

I've got a few vids worth of footage so will try and get as many of them up as I can before we go on holiday on Friday for 2 weeks. Unlikely to have any photos also as it was too wet for any photographers to get any shots.

The reverse layout is awesome. The only bits I'm not keen on are the big stop from over 100mph into the hairpin and the long sweeping right hander before Carlube/Clarkes corner coz if you get the braking wrong you'll be off.

The trickiest corner is definately Carlube/Clarkes in reverse. Off camber corner that wasnt to throw you off, even more challenging in the rain (I had a massive drift here and ran wide managing to get 2 wheels on the soaking grass but managing to pull it back on to the track (Ar$e clenching moment lol)

The complex of corners from Carlube/Clarkes all the way up the Duffus dip (Usually the 1st corner are awesome. Biggest challenge is getting the perfect run up the dip and onto the main straight (Its blind in reverse) and as it was raining hard I able to carry so much more speed up onto the straight. Twas awesome.

Had a cracking day as well, good to have a news:thumbup1:
My little bee went well, the 888's were a lot better in the wet than I expected.
The Ferodo Ds 1.11's were amazing, they were quick to heat up and hardly seemed to fade at all and I would say I spent more than 3 hours of the 4 hours on track.
Overall it wasn't bad for a first track day, I had been worrying about The weather but it was an advantage for the Clio's by the looks of it.

Looks amazing, how was the megane engined Clio in comparison ?

Any of you going on the 16th July ?

Wont be doing that one as I go on holiday for 2 weeks tomorrow.

I think the weather camoflaged the K-Tec 197's outright speed. One of the passengers commented on the trackscotland forum that it was struggling to keep up with me.

Only once was I directly behind it and it definitely didnt get away. Struggled to carry the speed up Duffus whereas I was able to slingshot round it. So I got the initial jump but the power of that thing just dragged it out of reach.

I did try to take it flatout but oversteered very badly lol. In the dry though you should be able to take Duffus flatout.

Also, in the dry I reckon the K-Tec 197 would demolish our 200.

Yeah I'm not really looking forward to the 16th because of the weather.

The meagnes just not as fun as the Clio in the wet.

I'll need to get a reverse day done at some point, the chicane looks great fun. You can two wheel that in the opposite direction never mind coming off a fair sized straight.

Where you off to on holiday ? 16th is Lisa's birthday so I'm more than paying for the trackday the weekend before to keep her happy  :nope:

Lol. Bournmouth for a week then Scarborough for a week (Getting remapped at RSTuning that week also). First holiday with the wee man.

Should be good.

whats the beting he didnt have a diff?

I'm sure it was fully loaded but will do some digging.

It also looked like he was running road tyres where as I was running AD08s. But then the rain would have equalised any differences in tyre performance really.
