I've only had the car about 3 weeks and to be honest I haven noticed any flat spot. No idea if the previous owner did something. Do you have a picture and I'll have a look?

I don't have any photos to hand, but this is the guide that explains it all. That should help to identify where it would need to be done.
 
Ive fitted a Miltek resonated system to mine recently and love it.

Deep grumble, and few quiet pops and bangs changing gears and not too droney driving around town until you put your foot down.

I must admit though at 70 on the motorway it's a little bit droney but doesn't bother me too much.

People complain about an exacerbated flat spot after fitting an aftermarket exhaust but mine didn't get any worse to be completely honest.

Hi all,

Got hold of a second hand Ktec/decat which I'm fitting this weekend.

In regards to the decat attaching itself to the manifold;

1 - does the cat (not the one in the manifold) require cutting from the manifold or does it just unclip?

2 - putting the decat on does it just slide on with a clamp or will some kind of sleeve have to be used?

I've bought mine with the full Akra Evo but I'm only running the resonator and the exhaust. Was told the decat was too loud and I don't want to get in any trouble related to noise or emissions.
 
ive got the Oreca single exit on mine and its rather loud. ill be taking it off shortly and probably get a non res scorpion cat back as there only £360 at the moment. i assume cobra/scorpion both sound the same???

If you're doing any sort of mileage get the Resonated Scorpion, non-res is well documented as being super droney....

If you ever track it you'll struggle to get onto a place like Bedford Autodrome with a non-res too, resonated on mine only passed by 3/4db.

thanks ill keep that in mind. i only do about 3000 mile a year so i might just risk it. and doubt ill do any track days.
 
Is anyone running a resonated exhaust with both cats removed? Interested in if it still passes track day noise limits and what it's like day to day.

If it's any help, I'm running Scorpion res with decat and standard manifold, came out ~96dB static at Bedford..

The static limit is 101dB right? How did you do with the drive by limit as that's what i'm worried about?
