Guys I think we are at the same shoes or on the same path: building our cars for time-attacks/track-days.

level1:
Bilstein B14 is a ride height adjustable coilover used in Toyota GT86 TRD also, pretty similar to KW V1, it cost around €1k

level2:
parallel setting of the rebound and compression phases, like Bilstein B16 and KW V3, AST 5100 cost around €1.8k

level 3: KW Bilstein clubsport, Ohlins R&T from €2.4k

So do we need a coilover, which only lowers our car OR if we invest, would it be better to invest more so we can change the rebound and compressions also?
Or its all about money, again?

Well I finally took the plunge today and ordered a set of AST 5100 with their top mounts.

Got them for a fantastic price from Julian at Balance motorsport, Top lad who knows his stuff when it comes to suspension.

Now just got the long wait to get over now..

very nice

hi people, have any of you fitted koni sport suspension kit, if so can anyone post a pic and give me any feed back on them? just wondering whether to buy a set

Nobody Using these then? How come they can't fit the cup? I'd be interested in seeing pics as a set ride height and adjustable damping would suit for me.

Hi guys, i am looking for some opinions.

driving a R27 with Eibach + Cup Dampers.

Enjoys Fast Road with occasional track day like once or twice a year.

Looking at a few candidate.

1. Bilstein B14
2. AST 5100
3. KW V3

I am shortlisting B14 for the price and reputation. However I have concern over the soft spring rate. I am afraid it may handle the same as my current setup.

I do not mind topping up for AST 5100 or KW V3 if B14 is not a worthy upgrade from my current setup.

Any expert willing to comment?

Hi! I have some questions, I sent several emails to ASTsuspension and I had no answer. What can I do? I'm from Spain, here there is no dealer of AST. If any of you can help me...

-What is the function of the double digressive piston? Is it worth the price?
-If I decide to buy AST where is the best site to make the order? At least a site where I get feedback...

Yes absolutely. Well worth the premium. Basically the double digressive piston or DDP increases the low speed damping. Low speed damping is what you need really as it keeps the car flat on high speed corners, also it allows the piston to be softer on high speed damping and that is when you hit a pothole or bump.

I'm having h&r springs fitted wednesday, I have cup suspension at the moment, my main reason was just because I wanted the car lower but looks like I'll be making a mistake when it comes to track days by reading these comments?

I run the b14 and for track days it's a good set up. There's a lot less body roll than on standard cup set up.

is steve11 the only one on here running the adjustable koni sport kit (with progressive H&R springs)? i see it's not even mentioned in the poll.

OK, front spring broken, on 197 Cup so good excuse for an upgrade! :thumb:

Have read the entire thread and there seem to be lots of questions, but not too many answers from real-world owner experiences.

For 197 Cup what are people's thoughts on Bilstein B14's for road AND track use?

Or should I just spend a lot more and buy AST 5100's or KW Clubsports?

The car is used both as a daily driver as well as track toy (6-8 TD's per year).

I'll tag you in another thread that has a lot of useful info.
