My 200 with cup handles better than my 197 with cup dampers and eibach springs

the 200 is a lot stiffer.

i don't know how big a difference coilovers would make as the cup set up is so good.

to be honest I don't think I would change unless I was going all out and getting kw clubsport suspension but that's a hell of a lot of money for probably not a huge gain as the standard cup suspension is so good on track.

Ken, many thanks for the answer, I think this is the way to go: 200 CUP, becasue its factory-built, cheap vs coilovers.

Now searching for some evidence, how stiffer it is.

kw clubsport is a fortune 1,900 GBP....

I went from standard full fat:

To standard dampers with eibach springs, these sat perfectly in my opinion and really reduced the dive under braking. The reduced body roll a little bit and the ride was generally as good as standard, only difference was slightly harsher when hitting pot holes or big bumps.

Then I wanted something suitable for road and track, with the increased adjustability so went for the KW Varient 3 coilovers. These have adjustable compression and rebound damping as well as ride height meaning they can be softened for road and hardened for track. They ride pretty similarly to the eibachs on my road settings but they're so much sharper on turn in and allow a lot more speed to be carried, grip seems to be massively improved. I've run them at bedford autodrome and the nurburgring on harder settings, they performed flawlessly and couldn't have asked for any more.

Eibach pro kit?...

Looking into springs so which do people rate? H&R or eibach pro's? Always used eibach on past cars but 20/25mm drop doesn't seem like much but I've heard H&R are crashy at the back?

Hi all, hoping to get a 197 soon. Has anyone sampled the H&R coilovers? Keen to hear your option on them. How would you compare them to KW V1. Car would be my daily with the occasional track day. I noticed the spring rate on the h&r are stiffer than the KW V1/3. Hoping that doesn't mean uncomfortable road use.
Cheers

hi people, have any of you fitted koni sport suspension kit, if so can anyone post a pic and give me any feed back on them? just wondering whether to buy a set

Hi all,
I have a NON cup 197. Have purchased KW V1 and AST top mounts. Just would like to know what height to set up for best handling. Handling is the priority.
Cheers

Anyone have a preferred spring rate setup for track? I have 7kg front and rear but thinking about going to 9kg rear

I'm sorta leaning towards the AST 5100's. The cars not going to be a daily, more of a runabout toy, but with a load of track days thrown in. Eventually it'll be a full blown track car.
The thing that I like about the Kw's is that they come with top mounts where as the AST's are extra.

Indeed, but the kits are miles apart in terms of engineering. You won't regret an AST kit on a toy car mate. I'm looking to send mine for service and upgrade (price allowing)

The ASTs do look a real quality bit of kit I have to agree there. Do you run the top mounts with them as well, and where did you get yours from?

I see Kamracing do them, anywhere else?

Mark Fish supplied them to me mate at factory prices and I got them fitted at his workshop. There was no need to buy the top mounts as well because I had been running adjustable top mounts with the stock suspension.

Bit of a noob question, but what's the best place to buy coil overs for a 200 ?
Im in Australia so australian website would be best if there is one.
also I'm assuming kw coil overs would be okay for a daily, or should I spend Abit more?
Cheers guys!
