Little update, treating the 200 to the following:

*H&R 30/40mm lowering springs(real can't justify whopping price of coilovers at this moment in time)

*Rear Brembo pads and caliper clean up.

*6k Oil & Filter change, with millers nanodrive 5w/40 (this 6K has flown by simcw my last service, which is worrying me that I'm over using my car [emoji33]) time for a daily soon I think.

*Gearbox oil change, with millers nano drive 75w/90. Only did the oil recently, but didn't notice a difference in the Fuchs Titan so I'm gonna try this. Not sure if I'm making a mistake going for a thicker oil with the impending cold weather. [emoji33]



So have my car booked in to have all the work done this Friday at two techs in Dartford who I highly recommend. Eagerly awaiting these car parts to be fitted even if it is only basic bits, let a slow week of waiting commence. [emoji11]

Update time...

All my work was successfully carried out by two techs. As per usual they did a great job.

The springs feel nice and firm. Combined with the AD08R's it fills me with confidence when cornering. Not overly stiff either which is surprising as I hear a lot of people complain about the ride comfort after fitting. Also sit nicely as seen in the photos below.

The gear oil is a massive improvement. The gear change is slightly weightier as its 75w-90 instead of 75w-80. Feels very precise plus no notchyness. Will have to see how she fairs on cold mornings.

The engine oil has made the car feel smoother also revs a little more freely, although this could just be my overactive imagination. [emoji39]

Also the rear pads have sharpened the brakes up so much. Shocked at how quickly they bite now considering they are standard. Clearly the old one where very low. I've decided the front brake set up is next on the cards.

Overall I'm a happy bunny. Only small changes and a little Maintenance have completely changed the cars feel. Totally forgot how good the brake are on these cars.

I think next on the agenda if the cazan racing 330mm conversion and some ds2500's. Also a set of vibratech engine mounts. [emoji2]

glad u find the springs comfy..car looks much better lowered..my Eibachs feel much more confident than the standard ones i'd say..as for the gear oil,did the same to mine and can not praise it enough..its a MUST thing on ur list..the change made a massive improvement on my car..just a liiitttlllee thing..good upgrade..very wise:thumbsup:

Haha cheers mate. I won't lie the springs are kinda stiff. But then again, I've never been to bothered about comfort, I use to own a Saxo with bucket seats and suspension that may aswell have been welded it was that stiff, so this still feel comfy to me haha [emoji23][emoji23]

Yeah man, the gear change is great now. Can't be more pleased with it [emoji2] it's a must for any Clio owner!

Car is looking good. I had my clutch bled by 2T, seem like good knowledgeable lads. I wish it was a bit nearer though! I changed my gearbox oil to Fuchs, no real difference when cold tbh to the original but ok when warm. I have just got some Redline MTL to try, hoping it will make a bit of an improvement.

Redline MTL will do mate.i did on mine..feels seriously good and confident..the clio gearbox needs to be looked after well or u r looking at spending big bucks for a new one..

Good updates; how finding the springs ? i would like to lower my car (mainly for looks) but not sure the Cup dampers can take the extra strain ? I don't want to wear the dampers out quicker than anticipated.

My car is due a service soon (indicator still states 5.5k miles until next service but wish to carry it out sooner); Interesting you state there is no notchyness with the thicker grade..... think i am going to opt for this stuff

Hi, the H&R lowering springs came from cazan racing.

Would rather not say, but it takes around approximately 3-4 hours labour to fit them.

I don't think you will have any problems if you are careful, just take it easy over speed bumps, bumpy roads and avoid parking on curbs ect. If your worried you could also try the eibachs which only give a 20mm/25mm drop so you wouldn't put them under as much extra strain. They are also progressive so they are a little comfort than the H&Rs. Obviously best option is coilovers which are pricey. [emoji24]

Yes give it a go, its very good gearbox oil. First thing on these cold mornings it can be a little notchy, but once warm it's as good as gold. Defiantly worth a try.

Quick Update: I've ruined my car. [emoji34]

So yesterday I stupidly decided to have my centre silencer and cat removed for some cheap noise. I've seen few people on here saying don't hesitate to great it done. I my personal opinion I have wasted my money. This was a massive mistake, sounds tinny and ridiculous. Feel free to call me a stupid cheapskate for doing this.

Here a video of how my ruined car sounds.
Also added a genuine RS gear knob, which is nice as it's nicely weighted. But I don't care about it, as my car is ruined.



Also had some Phillip diamond white bulbs and Osram white led side light but I don't really care about them as my car is ruined.



As you can tell not happy. But lesson learnt I suppose. [emoji19] Next job is to buy a proper cat back system.

Yeah I know what you mean bud, I've gone into one of those modes where something goes wrong and you just can't be arsed with your car anymore. Give it a few days though.

I'll probably speak to cazan tomorrow about a few possibilities, thinking maybe a supersprint system.

Gear knob was very easy to fit, took 30 secs. Just pull the old one off. (Don't twist it) pick up the spring that will fall out and put it back on the gear stick. Push on the RS gear knob. Give it a thump. Job done (pardon all the smut) got it on Ebay from a company called auto accessorise. Delivery was very quick.

im gutted for ya mate..why did u have the center silencer removed??in all fairness it sounds stupid(like these scooters) hate that sound...but as Chris said-look into some cat backs and u will love it again..

Give it time Luke. When I first desilenced mine I thought wtf have I done as it also sounded tinny. Once you have a few miles on the clock it cokes up nicely and starts to sounds much better
