** Give your honest feedback about Clio197/200.net **

Hi all,

Following on from this thread: Clio197/200.net Website Sale

As you may or may not be aware, Jase has recently relinquished his ownership / control of the club. I hate to use either of those terms, as the club is all about you guys who make it a club in the first place, but all it means at the moment is that the site is now running on a different server (hopefully you've noticed a bit of a performance increase too!).

What we'd like to hear from you guys is your honest feedback about how things are at present with the site / forum, but also socially as a club in general. What's good, what's bad? What works, what doesn't?

We are keen to get to work on any things you think need our focus, but equally we don't want to interfere in stuff that is already working well, and we don't want to tread on any toes or change peoples roles within the club where the are doing a great job.

So this is your soap box, tell us what you think, both positives and negatives. :shout:

Not noticed a difference to be honest. Just seems the same, which is a good thing I guess.

Ive noticed a mod of the site previously is now a guest? I don't know if I've missed something?

Personally not seen an increase in performance, but my internet is so crap I wouldnt be able to tell lol.

Anything which isn't directly related to this forum has been deleted.

Nik wants your feedback about this forum, none other. Not what anyone thinks about CS or the new owners in general.

If you have feedback, please keep it on topic otherwise it'll probably disappear.

On topic: I noticed a huge increase on browsing speed as soon as you changed servers. So nicely done.

The community on this website is great here. It's why I come here every day and lurk.

They also put up with my nonsense and crap too without hassle and I thank everyone for it.

I hope it never changes !

I love 197.net. It's a friendly forum which allows opinions but in a sensible way which other forums fail to get the balance right.

I browse most days and post where I can.

Perhaps the site should be just renamed to Clio-RS.net as at present with four titles 197/200/200t/Clio-RS.net, it appears as a site that doesn't know what it is. Where as Clio-RS.net would encompass all RS Clio past, present and future. Surely one single style club sticker would look better than having (at present) two such as 197.net and 200.net (still waiting for 200t.net stickers) at club meets.

Just a thought on giving it a single identity, could still keep the Mk3 CLIO lettering in the same way as CS has kept the Mk2 Clio lettering.

me too..thats a great improvement..used to get really annoyed while waiting for the page to load..Job well done..

Site is great how its set out, the social side and the help you get is 2nd to none

I personally think its over moderated (as in this thread already) and has masses of double standards! Seems a select few can do as they please and nothing gets said about there posts, hence why ive become a lurker and not a frequent poster!

Mate to be fair, if people can put up with me, you've got nothing to worry about !

Don't be shy. We're all RS lovers here!

I agree with the Domain name change, could do with more globalisation. Perhaps expensive if someone is already renting it.

I'll echo a few of the comments already made and say that 197.net is a great forum. It's members were very welcoming when I joined recently and the advice available is brilliant. I log on daily and contribute to threads when I can.

It's good to hear that the site, in new hands, should continue to move forward in the same positive way and I look forward to being a member of the community in the future.

so change it to clio sport basically and merge the 2 together lol go for it would be fun to watch.

In the sites defence they are all domain names (if I'm right) so just expands google search capability.

I've said before but I'll say again

The forum needs a chat/banter/shoutbox on the homepage

Was great for General real time chat with online members.

Was a great way to socialize

I found that was the best way of getting involved in meets etc

Just my 2 pence worth

That's a brilliant shout tbh, that would be good for members attending a meet etc.. Instant chat, rather than looking for the meet thread etc

good idea!

Nothing wrong with expanding the Search results but as a site it lost it's identity the minute the 200 launched and now with the 200T, looks as if it's trying to hard to encompass all models from the 197 up, so just have the one identity.
As for merging with CS err no, as a member of that site as well as this one (which I'm sure I'm not the only one) the site is now slowly heading towards chav central with the cheap price of 1*2's and early 197's these days, which is unfortunate.

That's inevitable with this model getting cheaper, I think the main thing that keeps these cars aimed at a certain person, it's the insurance costs for younger people that stop them accessing them so soon

I'll be first to get to the nitty gritty.
over moderating. The attuide of staff.

part from that, this place used to me awesome.
forum needs to find the love again

Could you expand on the attitude of the staff please, genuine question.

To see what could be improved on.

i won't gez mate. purely because of the bs that comes with it.
I got banned for being constructive and actually praising what some staff members have done.

that says it all
