Clio Meg RS320bhp conversion (update Meg Rad)

Just had the pleasure of being allowed a blast in this...

Now, obvisouly I expected it to shift. But, that is something else, it's hard to compare it to an NA 197/200. In loose terms it's faster than a current STi in gear, that's the easiest thing I could compare it to. If you're looking at FWD Turbo cars then I can only compare it to my old FIAT Coupe 16VT and it's a lot faster than that too but it also feels a lot more composed and with the 10-15 years of Turbo engine developments you can really feel how things have come on in that respect. Virtually no lag and just effortless accleration, in every gear. Going from 50-70MPH in 3rd is like 20-40MPH in 2nd in an NA car.

Hats off to Litchy and Steve at SC AutoElectrics. Seriously quick car, no wonder Renaultsport didn't do it... They wouldn't have sold any Megs!!!

It's a weapon.

I took it down to my local test track and at first wasn't giving anywhere near full throttle but even at maybe half throttle, it was pulling like a train. Very very very impressed. Also what surprised me a little is how high up the range it still pulls where as a lot of Turbo's tail off early in comparison. At full throttle there's a bit of a grab from the Diff' but it's certainly not harsh and I wouldn't even really consider it as torque-steer either.

I'll be after another go once it's all finished Litchy... You know, for scientific comparison purposes.

I bet this is awesome beast!! All about boosted 197's lol!! With big power and a diff they just grip like crazy, scary grip!!! And go like f***kin stink!!!!

I need to have a go in yours now mate so I can see the difference between S/C and Turbo...

Purely for the good of the forum you understand, so that I can put a review together!!!

Cheers Will, I value your opinion......and seems like your now the forums stig!!!! lol
Henderson the offers always there mate......

Haha!!!! both very different, mines a screamer, the way it delivers power along with the grip is unreal, it keeps gripping!! Never driven anything like it, crazy! And the acceleration is awesome!

I reckon litchys would feel quicker cos of the turbo. Both different drives tho, personal preference I think on how u like the power delivered

Well, some say...

It's so progressive, it's quite strange to be honest. I thought the twin-scroll on Subaru's was nice and smooth but compared to this it feels more old-skool and dare I say laggy. Renault have done a very good job on that engine, you can tell it's Forced but it's eerie how smooth it is. I'd have to have a go in a 225 as well to see how much they've changed between the two engines in terms of delivery. Mike or Jonesy, if you'd like to offer me your keys then I'd gladly test your R26 and R27 too!!!

I imagine yours is delivered much like the normal NA but with extra balls behind it?

Awesome!!!

Can't wait to see that flying around a track. Litchy will have to join us next time so then we'll have one of each setup with Jonesy's.

Power wise....still got some way to go too!!!.....and I do need to sort them bloody brakes out lol

Hahaha just a bit mate!!!

When cadence braking isn't doing the job you know there's something not right!!!

Just been reading on Meganesport, Forged RS250 + fancy turbo = 400bhp. Steve, maybe engine out in August 13? Better start saving.....lol

How you getting on with the gear shift mate?

Mine has really settled now and is actually really good (not 197/200 good, but way better than it was).

Getting used to it probx ly helps too.
