Im getting close to needing tyres for the 197. Im on 18's with the current rubber being Toyos Proxes S on front and R on rear.
My S's on the front are getting well down but the R's have 5mm of wear left. I did put the R's on the front for a while but the "threepennybitting" on the insides made it sound like the front wheel bearings had gone so Ive returned them onto the back axle the uneven noise doesnt seem as apparent when they are on the back
So my options are:
1.Just buy a pair of R's for the front to match the part worn ones on the rear.
2. Buy a set of 4 R's or S's and replace the lot
3. Buy a set of 4 of another make although I have no idea what I would go for
Ive read quite a bit on here about the various tyre make recommendations albeit these are generally relating to 17"s but guess the same views would be said for 18" rubber.
If Im going for a full set swap I may need a bit of guidance if Im going away from Toyos although in the short time Ive had the car the Toyos have performed well wet and dry
Any advice?
