Flat Tyre Advice

I just got home and on exiting my Clio heard a hissing noise coming from my passanger side rear tyre. It had a large silver screw sticking out of it and now is as flat as a pancake.
How do I get it to the tyre repair shop do I use the can of spray or take the tyre off ? Having no spare tyre sucks:-( oh and I have to be at work 7am tomorrow so guess it's the bus for me.

two options.... you can either use the spray and drive it to the tyre fitters... or take the wheel off and pop it in..

how far is the tyre shop,

leave the screw in and pump the tyre up to then see how long it takes to go down

there may be enough time to get to the shop before its flat again

the tyre weld stuff is a nightmare its not worth using

Tyre shop is 6 minute drive from my house but the screw is not fully in it's sticking out and tyre is totally flat.

yer they tend to say get a new tyre if its been filled up

i used to be a fitter and its sticky as hell i hated the stuff

Thanks for the advice guys I will leave it until Wednesday as I'm off work and pull the tyre off and take to fitter. I checked we don't seem to have mobile tyre fitters on the Gold Coast Queensland. That would so much easier if they could come to me.

....I wouldn't use the tyre weld stuff....it is a temporary solution designed to get you a short distance and you will render the tyre unfit for normal use....I would either jack the car up and take the wheel to a fitters or get a mobile in.....if the screw is in the tyre wall it's a write-off.....I think these tyres are 'non-repairable' because of the rating and profile....

The screw is in the middle of the tyre not near the wall geez I hope it can be fixed tyre is still like brand new the car has only done 9500km.

You could possibly slow the puncture by screwing the screw fully in so that the countersink seals the hole, pump it up and then drive it to the tyre place. However would obviously be at your own risk and would definitely suggest driving slowly

All fixed thanks to Renault road side assist and it cost me nothing I forgot my car came with road side assist.

Not sure if I agree with that brightside.. Have you seen inside a tyre after that foam stuff has been used? A tyre garage will tell you it destroys the tyre and you MUST buy a new one. In reality, it stays as a runny liquid unless it gets to fresh air and can simply be wiped clean with a cloth and soapy water.

I guess tyre places don't like getting their hands dirty!

A friend of mine used this Tyre Weld on a slow puncture and then went around Brands Hatch for a 1/2 day track day - no problems at all.

Im a UHP Tyre specialist mate. 9/10 what happens is it has a chemical reaction with the tyre and patches dont stick to it. Seen it many times before, and have tried to fix a friends tyre that had used it, few days later the patch came off.

Some "tyreweld" or "gunk" w/e you call it, you can wash out, but very rarely.

Hope this helps
