No point as synchros are normally brass so there not magnetic, no Thers no filings or bits of teeth nothing nasty just a slight metalic colour, I'll make Do for now n shift under 6000rpm until I get it sent in for timing belt done, gear selection is much better after the oil change tho

So just had a stupid quote on a gearbox repair, on eBay Thers some factory soiled boxes new old stock I belive, is the tl4024 the correct box for my 2008 cup and has anyone else had one of these boxes as he's sold 19 of them, I just want to make sure before I make the purchase
Also iv noticed the 200 has a different gbox code Tl4031 compared to tl4024, what's the difference and would it benefit puting that box to my engine with it being newer, advice needed c'mon mr fox lol

The mythical updates syncro has an S or something in the gearbox code. I've just had a 024 gearbox from rsc put in yesterday
not picking car up I till Monday but mechanic says it's spot on. Steve (birchhdown rs specialist) had fitted a few of tees boxes for customers with no issues. You'll need a clutch kit to go with te gearbox as the release bearings fitted to these boxes are corroded up to ****.

Iv ordered the tl4024, had a repair quote for £210 n that's me getting the box to them and picking it up after the repair so opted for a new box at £360, all iv seemed to do since I got this car is throw money at it whilst paying for a wedding n honeymoon it's quite stressfull at times the wench is geting pretty pi*sed with me to be honest lol
Take it it's not advisable to use the bearing off the box that's in the car, I'm not looking forward to changing the box at all but Thers no way I'm paying £400 just for fitment and oil, no way. Orderd mine from rsc too seems a bargain at that price so I was abit sceptical
Looks like I'm shifting 3rd-5th for a while banks on its ass, is there any garage recommendations round the leeds/garforth area duno if I'm starting to bottle it lol, not used to working on such delicate things been quoted £450 for just replacing it if I supply the box, does that sound about right ?
It's a big old job by all accounts. Think book time is around 5 hrs iirc??
I've had it done through mates rates, but also had other work done so not sure what the cost would be.

RSC gearbox off eBay put in mine this week, with new genuine Renault clutch kit. Collected it today and drove off for a 2hr blat about.
No problems so far - and I hope none more to come.
Mega job to replace box. I paid £650 labour.

it aint such a pain as long as you have tools 2-poster etc
