Can someone describe the dreaded gearbox grind?

Hi guys, is it a short crunch or a continuous grind for the whole time you are in the gear?

Mine used to crunch into 2nd and 3rd whilst giving it some, but then got progressively worse, once in gear it was perfect, but changing was the issue..

Mine used to get it from 3rd to 4th. It was a short crunch on mine. Tbh if you've got a crunch short or continuous theres probably an issue. These boxes are s****!

Mine does a tiny crunch when at really high revs going into 6th? Maybe i just shouldnt change to that gear so early?

thanks guys, i think the noise i can hear is actually coming from the engine as it does it in every gear, when i take it up to about 4-5k rpm and then let off i get sort of a distant quiet vibration/grind. it could just be a normal noise or these engines i suppose

Crunch USUALLY takes place when its going into the gear you want and is a short crunch of around 1/2 to 1 second in length and can be felt on the gear stick.
