Silverstone Edition 200 - AST 5100

Almost there with the build

Put the cage in for the fifth and final time (for now, want to get the interior sprayed next year)

Boot polished up and aero catch brakets made, underestimated the frustration of getting these brackets perfect but got there in the end.

Dashboard cut for the cage, pleased with the results

Then flocked it, not fully pleased with the results. Not as "dense" as I would like but im hoping once I get a windscreen fitted and not sat under some bright LED lights it will look better. Looks good in photos however

Window and mirror switches fitted to the doorcard. I was wanting to fit it on the centre console next the the hand brake but running a bit tight on time and couldn't find wiring diagrams of any use. Doesn't look too out of place and tucks nicely between the door bar.

Engine bay fuse boxes relocated to make room for the V6 box.

Finally how it is sitting just now. Got some interior trims to sort, windscreen and boot window to fit and I think that should be it ready for the Nurburgring

Proper tidy!
Thats the aim, I was really please with it before in the clubsport spec so I try my hardest to make a neat job of it all. The only thing really annoying me is the brackets that need removed on the interior and the fact its not painted. Next year hopefully if I can bring myself to remove the god damn cage again.

Final bits today.

All the trims put in and lower trims cut for the cage, could do with a bit more fettling but it is good as it is.

Steering wheel spacer, wheel was too far away for me even with the adjustable rack. Went for a 60mm which is just enough even with the rack all the way towards me.

Wee sticker added, if you know you know

Waiting on a carbon centre console which will remove the radio hole. One month till nurbugring.

Took it for a blast, not sure if its something vibrating or the new V6 airbox but it sounds like it now has mad induction noise almost like its on ITBs. Anyone with a V6 airbox can clarify?

I didn’t notice much of a noise change on the V6 box, but possibly because the exhaust was so noisy.

Car looks unreal.

Yeah I can't hear any noise from my V6 airbox either,I think the plastic housing dampens the noise quite a bit, fiberglass or carbon would be much better.

I moved from a KTec induction kit to a V6 box and thought that the V6 box made a good noise but not a loud, or, really noticeable induction noise.

Late update from the ring trip. All went well with no car issues. Only issue is the car is very loud now inside, ears were ringing after the track day.

Done about six trips to the ring previously but this way the first time doing a track day. Much better than TF, especially as its so busy these days.

The day started off wet and foggy and remained wet in a few places for almost the full day but regardless it was great as expected. The aim was to get a sub 8 but as the conditions didn't allow I took a relaxed approach and just enjoyed myself taking friends on passenger laps all day.

First time staying at the Racing chalet in Meuspath. Highly recommend staying here. Nice accommodation with two single garages and a large driveway, also a BBQ. Very close to the devils diner car park too. Booking link
