Well since the last post it's been an intresting few weeks.
(Apologise for the long post)
So after diagnosing that the fuel pump had actually packed up I ordered a walbro 300 fuel pump.
Now I'm no mechanic but I have a fair bit of knowledge about cars and decided I would do this my self we have a couple of ramps at a workshop we share between mates.
I found a guide on here to how to get certain parts off.
So in order.
Number plate off
Diffuser off.
Exhaust center section off.
On closer inspection of the exhaust it turns out that it's a full cat back scorpion system, the lad I bought it off said it was just a diffrent back box.
Rear brake lines off.
Handbrake cables off.
Lamba sensor disconnected.
Middle exhaust mount off.
Middle heat sheild off.
Fuel lines off.
Power to pump off.
Then 5 bolts on the tank and dropped it on a couple of gearbox stands to lower it down.
Removed the old plastic screw lid and seal and removed pump housing from the tank.
Pump housing all stripped down and old pump removed.
Wires stripped on housing plug and walbro and heatshrunk together.
New filter that come with the walbro.
Had to remove the old pipe as it was also heatshrunk on.
Next was to put the pipe they supplied on but it was a bit difficult to get on, after fighting with it it was finally on and heatshrunk following the intructions.
After all this it was pretty much reverse order plus a new fuel pump seal kit.
Once all back together minus the diffuser and number plate.
Got in the car pressed start and she fired and ran for 30seconds then it cut out.
F*ck I think the words I used was.
So after looking about for something I may have forgot to put back on (which luckly I hadn't) it could only mean it was something internal.
So I had to take it all apart again, it was the pipe from the actual pump to the pump housing had popped off.
I was in such a bad mood I left it all covered up and headed home.
A few days later I went back to it. Got some braided fuel line to go between the pump and housing with some small jubilee clips. Put it all back together. Pressed the button and boom.
All seems fine but now I have an engine light and a check emissions.............I'm guessing that's to do with upsetting the lamba sensor?
It runs and drives fine apart from the flat spot seems more apparent between 2-3k RPM which makes me think it's the lamba sensors?
Iv Re bled all the brakes starting with the furthest away and working foward.
I need to adjust my handbrake cables now as its not working at all.
Sorry there isn't many pics:
Poorly car on the drive.
Car on the ramp.
Walbro 300.
Scorpion exhaust.
Exhaust tunnel.
Fuel tank.
New fuel pump seal kit.
Pump housing and walbro.
All this has put my trip to RSTuning to have the belts and service done on hold so that will be early next year now.
