A lil update on this... after changing to the powerflex mount my steering vibrated when idling and with the warmer weather recently I noticed with the A/C on it vibrated a lot. It didn't seem to settle much even after 1k miles and felt all this vibration can't be good long-term so decided to fork out for a new OEM mount and the car handles much better now I feel. The last few months my car just hasn't felt stable and lost confidence behind the wheel but now it's back to it's original chuckable, sublime nature. The only other bits I changed this weekend was the n/s upper/ARB link-arm from Eurocarparts to the OEM and the oil/filter.
This is interesting. Now, I'm not mechanically minded by a long way but to me, the fact that they're known to settle down after a while means they're losing some of their stiffness. So if this happens so quickly, what about when you've put 10k miles on them?
My gut feeling is that new OEM ones are the best way forward.
