Quaife diff?

I seem to have caught the bug for modifying my car, and i blame this forum :chair:

Anyhow, am thinking that a Quafe diff may be my next addition and was wondering what difference this makes? Am i right in saying that it 'prevents' understeer, makes the nose a bit more pointy, aids traction through and out of corners but causes torque steer?
Anything else? worth the money?

Cheers

Errrrmmmmm yes you got the idea but there is a few more things it's like driving a different car mate 1200 well spent in my opinion

Lmao common misconception £648 + fitting and the gear box needs rebuilding with the diff in it's not a bolt on mod

Best mod for the car. More noticable on the track than the road though.
Expect to pay between 15-1700 all in. That includes master cylinder, calm unit and other bits n bobs needed.
Ktec did mine and ive had no issues whatsoever 8)

What is the "calm unit"?

Yeah ktecs prices are a bit expensive I went to a specialist that removed gearbox and clutch and sent away to a specialist no problems with mine the clutch is just a bit harsh cus it's a paddle. 1230 I think I paid all in

It's a Renault reccomendation on grounds there parts are made from 100% tissue paper lol

it's actually the clutch slave cylinder, which happens to have the release bearing built in. They don't like being taken apart, and never seem to work again if you take the box out
it's actually a CARM unit (not calm) or Centrally Actuated Release Mechanism

Yup this maybe the moat important part for smooth operating not only for differentials though on all clutch changes

Oh...I know that, changed 2 by now (with every clutch set change).

That's another £120.

Has anyone else got any feedback on the diff please ? or videos from track days with a diff in .

any reviews welcome

I have had my diff fitted since March.
It was the first mod i did coming from an r26 and that car hooked me with its diff and its ability to lay down the power so early.
On track it enables you to lay the power down real early and just pull you round.
Cannit..a previous 200 owner drove it on track and also commented how early you could power down and how much better it was with the diff compared to his ff cup fitted car.
Ktech had an article about its differences too.
All in all deffo worthit...if your going to track it.
Hope that helps...

coming from the track prepped vxr i tried to diffs in that a quaife and a wavtrac so i know how good they can be , i plan on doing 8-10 track days in 2012 a few more than last year so probally needed
