New Clio 197 Owner - Engine Behaviour Question

Thanks and sorry for all the questions!

Is the squeaky clutch a confirm issue? Wondering whether a bit of lubrication will be enough to sort it or whether it needs a full bleed and new cylinder as per some of the other threads on here.

I might speak to RS Tuning tomorrow and chat about all the work and get a price.

Phone and ask to speak to Paul. They're renault sport specialists so timing belt will be no problem. Map will be less than 400. Whole lot should only take a few hours and the town centre is only a few minutes walk away over the bypass.

Cheers Sean. I'll give them a call tomorrow if I don't hear back from the email I sent.

Just a pain as its hard for me to make calls during the day due to work.

If I get them to do a map and timing belt, how much do you think this will cost?

Also, are either of you running powerflex engine mount inserts?

My boss used ecotune for his RS6, got Milltek exhaust and remap and was well happy. I think they specialise mostly on German marques. I would give SWR (Stirling) a phone and they could maybe recommend you a good mapper.

Cheers Locke.

I messaged eco tune, but no reply yet.

If they're able to do a custom map, then is that maybe some worth exploring?

I'll speak to RS Tuning tomorrow too.

Be good to get a deal somewhere that can do the map and the other bits too.

Are any of you running powerflex engine inserts?

Wonder if I can strike a deal, to have all the work done.

I need a cambelt change too, Rentec in Edinburgh will do this and all the bits/auxiliary for £390.

I got Rentec to check my R27 over when I bought it but at the time never knew about SWR who helped me out with my 182. Both seemed enthusiastic and were helpful, just thinking Stirling would be closer mate as Rentec is over in Leith.

I spoke to SWR, they were £70 more expensive for the timing belt, so didn't take it any further.

Now I need a map too, so was hoping to find somewhere to do both and strike a deal.

I have no Powerflex inserts but reading on here the members that do have them went with lower engine and torque arm bush then gearbox.

Going to take out the blacks and replace with the yellow at the lower engine and torque arm.

Fair enough mate. Not much to choose from up here I'm afraid.

I went to RS Tuning from Inverness. Recommended. They may well do the belt too. I'm planning to use Rentec in Edinburgh for my belt change next year.
