Hi all,
So I just bought a 2011 200. The guy I bought it from says the car has previously been de-catted, but being a garage he had to sell it with the cat back on.
Driving the car there seems to be a bit of delay when you touch the throttle, there is a little over-run when you let off the throttle also. The car is pretty loud by all accounts, even though I'm informed it's all in standard trim, and when you really wind it up it pops and bangs on the gear change. I'm pretty sure it would've been mapped if it was decatted, but aside from plugging it in?
Also if it is mapped I assume I won't be doing any damage to anything with the car being put back to standard form? At best I'd assume it's bunging more fuel than it needs in being strangled by the cat and restricted airfilter (also back to oe, although I've no idea if that has ever been changed) and that is whats causing the overrun and pops/bangs. Not overly sure what would be causing the hesitancy when pressing the throttle though. Leak on the air intake possibly?
I'm going to get the car thoroughly gone over in the near future as the miles are getting up there now, so want to get all the bushes, mounts etc all checked out. It's very clean (apart from a small blemish on the boot lid under the wiper).
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steve
