Well I need to take my hat off to the boys at SWR in Stirling (Scotland) who are just amazing.

As some of you guys know I went to Stornaway a few weeks ago to pick up my LY 197 F1 and I have now spent £1000+ on getting stuff sorted and even then there is more work needed.

So it was away for the following work with all genuine Renault parts.

Timing Belt Kit
Aux Belt Kit
Dephaser
Water Pump
Thermostat
Oil Filter
Air Filter
Pollen Filter
Spark Plugs
Radiator (Had a hole in it the size of a £2.00 Coin)
Fresh Coolant
Fresh Oil
A/C Recharged
Rocker Cover Sealed
VVT Seal
Air Temp Sensor
Heater Resistor Plug Fixed

Air box was all refitted as it had a induction kit on it.
All parts where vapour blasted.

Next on the list is the following along with fixing arch liners and other small bits and bobs.

Front Discs & Pads
Rear Discs & Pads
Front Cup Dampers & Springs
Upper & Lower Ball Joints

Faults -

Think I will pop through to see them about a MOT on mine as it closer than Rentec. Never knew there was a specialist so close to me until recently.

SWR are the only people who will touch any of my cars.
They are building 800bhp cosworths with a 300bhp BTCC car they run and they know more about Renault's than most people have forgot.

SWR have all the genuine Renault tools and Clip and know Renault's inside out.

Thats some list of work / new parts Marc ! Did you know what you were getting into when you bought it ?

The vapour blasted Aluminium bits look superb. "Proper job"

Good luck with the remaining work..........

jeezz..lots had to be done to get her where she is now..well done for looking after her so well..spot on...any mods planned for her/??

Good to know that mate, cheers.

Hats off to you for going to all this effort. I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run.

Well some more progress on the LY with some bad news but I'm getting there.

First I had a badly cracked scuttle panel so managed to get a good second hand one to change it and thought while I was in there I would clean under there and my X5 steam mop came in handy for this one.
As the car has been on an island for a good few years there is alot of sand blocking holes all over the place.

After doing the above the front seats had to come out the car as they are away for a full re-trim in black leather and alcantara from a very top end company (Transcal - Livingston UK)
So I started to clean the interior of the car with the seats out and noticed a wet patch at the back footwell, Well I have had to rip the whole carpet out and all the foam as it had around 2"s of water in the footwell and the mould was unreal.

The foam has been replaced, The carpet has been fully cleaned and dried out and all the mould has been scrubbed down with a brush and thin bleach, The whole car has been steam cleaned with the X5 steam mop and wiped down.

Here is some pictures of what I found.

Bloody hell mate. Big update there. So much work going into this one. Really good to see.

Sorry to hear about the water ingress. Hope you've got it all sorted out now.

good job you spotted it..what did it cause??

It is 100% coming form the back so in the next couple of weeks its getting stripped and then garden hose down the back but I have a feeling that all drainage holes and channels around the tail gate are blocked with stand like the front was.

Its coming together nicely , Want to get the rear bumper and defusser off to give it a clean and check for any issues.

Don't mean to be cheeky but I hope you got this car for a decent price as you have a fair bit of work and cost involved getting it back to tip top condition.

It was cheap enough but this is a keeper like my Trophy so it will get done whats needed.
Cant wait to get the seats back and plus with the seats being out the car I have been scrubbing it with a X5 steam mop and bleach to clean it up and get it looking good.

Fair play to you mate.

Nice work already, going to take my wheels of shortly and check it out behind them, start a bit of detailing

Some more work carried out on the Clio.

Took the rubber off round the boot and cleaned all that along with the rear lights and everything else that was in there, Once again I managed to use the X5 Steam mop with is amazing for doing this sort of stuff.

This thread needs a "No stone unturned" moniker !

Impressive attention to detail doesn't even come close.

Stunning work Marc........

Well the Sh*t got real and I'm so so happy.

So we bought the car like this with the drivers seat in very very bad condition and then so dirty is was cringe just to even sit in them as pictured below.

I bought a genuine Recaro CS Seat cover from capital seating and as it came with the Recaro logo it was £52.
