First Cars!

My 1st car i had even before i past my test thats how keen i was to get out there it cost me £500, insurance was a £1000

1987 Renault 5 1.4 GTS Panache a massive 72bhp, lol

I loved this car to bits and was gutted 4 years down the lie when i feel of the road in the snow, but it was easily fix didnt look as bad as it was and my mate bought it of me.

My 2nd car was a 1993 Renault Clio RSi 1.8 8v 110bhp

Now i only bought this car cos i thought my R5 had, had it so it was a bit of a rush job, there was never anything wrong with it but i never really 100% like it apart from the engine that was a corker  i put a 16v bonnet on it and some Clio Baccara leather seats i think they were on less then six month sold them on ebay and made a nice profit

Then i found this a 2002 Renaultsport Clio 172 at a bargin price and bugger all miles on it i couldnt refuse to by it really

Even though i wanted flame red i still loved this car, i love it even more when i got rid of the conti non contact sport tyres and replaced them with the 182 cup size of the PES's

and then 4 years down the line i couldnt belive when i found my next and current car a 2005 Renaultsport Megane 225

From the moment it came out i wanted an Inferno 225 and i couldnt believe my luck i found this one at 10k with still a years warranty left at the time and it had just about all the toys which ph1's dont have, so i wasted no time in going down to see if test drive and put a deposit down. Best car ive ownd to date and it amazes me every time i go out in it  it has a Stage 1 remap and an ITG replacement panel filter epic car and never thought i be able to afford one till it was an old crock

Yeah it was a struggle overtaking but if you knew what it could or in this case couldnt do very well you could do it no problem! haha!

I had mines for just over three years.

Me too. 3 and a quarter years. It was such a fun car to drive. Engine loved being revved. It was like the 197, only cheaper, slower and less cappable in every other aspect! I think that is why I love my 197 so much. It reminds me of my 1.2 and feels great. I always remeber going to Shell Island North Wales in it. We had an hour to get on the site before it closed and we had nowhere to stay. Journey was going to take about 55 mins. Got there in 30. Just shows how good Clio's handle and the chassis is more than good enough.

Anyway, a couple of pics.

First car, first Clio. Complete with 'L' plate!

Second car, second Clio. Great car. This is on my favourite road, which I had the pleasure of driving several time in this car, once in the first Clio and a couple of weeks ago in the 197 during the Welsh Blast meet.

Third car, third Clio.

£500? I got £800 for my 1998 1.2 RL Paris 4 years ago, surely they either ripped you off or there was something more than high millage wrong with it?

i feel like a gimp now for putting a 172 grill on it. . . . . if only i knew

61k with no service! Jesus! Must have been a good one to go for that long. Was there actually anything wrong with it?

Yes mate, I felt a gimp after I realised it wasn't cool to change the Campus sticker for a Sport badge on my 1.2 16v! It only lasted 6 months before i took it off. It was a Campus Sport though, so technically not a complete lie!
