First Cars!

A black '08 Corsa D, it went from a bog standard 1.4, to a subtly modified D and now I have the 197.

I loved it, my brother has got it as his first car now too. So its still in the family. :tongueout:

1998 mk 1 1.2 8v Clio. Base model, no PAS, steel wheels, no rev counter, black bumpers etc. Bought for £800 and traded it in against a new mk 2 Clio 1.2 16v Campus Sport. Got £800 p/x , not bad for 8 months of motoring! Loved it, even though it was scary in the wet and broke down in Yorkshire! Mk 2 Clio was a great car. Traded in for the 197 earlier this year.

This thread is making me feel old, well apart from Roy :tongueout: lol

My first car back in 1998 when I passed my test was a toyota Corolla GL on a E reg, I paid £2k for it and crashed it 3 times lol

My first car when i turned 17 in 2006 was a MY06 reg Clio 1.2 16v Campus Sport with an almighty 75bhp! Loved that thing.

I would actually STRAIGHT swap my 197 for it back in the condition i sold it.

I was the same, appart from I was nearly 18 and I don't miss mine much. It was such a struggle with overtaking.

Yeah it was a struggle overtaking but if you knew what it could or in this case couldnt do very well you could do it no problem! haha!

I had mines for just over three years.

Well I was going to quote on the post below by stating that, the car bought then was in the same year I was born, I decided against it to stop people feeling old, however if you guys are already feeling that, there is no point in holding back haha!

A 72 mini TNC 228 K way back in 1987

My 1st car i had even before i past my test thats how keen i was to get out there it cost me £500, insurance was a £1000

1987 Renault 5 1.4 GTS Panache a massive 72bhp, lol

I loved this car to bits and was gutted 4 years down the lie when i feel of the road in the snow, but it was easily fix didnt look as bad as it was and my mate bought it of me.

My 2nd car was a 1993 Renault Clio RSi 1.8 8v 110bhp

1993_renault_clio-pic-14845.jpg

Now i only bought this car cos i thought my R5 had, had it so it was a bit of a rush job, there was never anything wrong with it but i never really 100% like it apart from the engine that was a corker  i put a 16v bonnet on it and some Clio Baccara leather seats i think they were on less then six month sold them on ebay and made a nice profit

Then i found this a 2002 Renaultsport Clio 172 at a bargin price and bugger all miles on it i couldnt refuse to by it really

Even though i wanted flame red i still loved this car, i love it even more when i got rid of the conti non contact sport tyres and replaced them with the 182 cup size of the PES's

and then 4 years down the line i couldnt belive when i found my next and current car a 2005 Renaultsport Megane 225

From the moment it came out i wanted an Inferno 225 and i couldnt believe my luck i found this one at 10k with still a years warranty left at the time and it had just about all the toys which ph1's dont have, so i wasted no time in going down to see if test drive and put a deposit down. Best car ive ownd to date and it amazes me every time i go out in it  it has a Stage 1 remap and an ITG replacement panel filter epic car and never thought i be able to afford one till it was an old crock

My first ever car was a H reg Metro Gti 16v back in 1998. Nowhere near as bad as it sounds though. 100bhp in a car that weighed nothing meant it was plenty quick and suprisingly chuckable too. It was made of cardboard though. The way I used to drive it makes me shudder to think of the consequences should I have binned it.

It did have red seatbelts. When you're 18 red seatbelts are quite possibly the coolest thing ever:wink:

Not mine, but for our younger readers who might not be fimilar with our BL heritage

Mine was a E reg Ford escort 1.3 which a week after passing my test I crashed into the back of my pals nearly new 206, she'd passed the day before I hit her lol

Then it was my L reg Mini Rio 1275, still got it in my dads garage its undergoing the worlds longest engine conversion (1.6 vtec from a crx)

Then a 2004 Suzuki ignis sport 1.5 that was fun until I rolled it on a slippery S bend

Then a 2003 Megane 1.6 dynamique which I treated like the shed it was, that thing just soaked up the speed bumps!

Now it's the 2008 197 cup and I'm delighted

Ford Escort 1.3pop Combi Van lol

Ended up with an RS Turbo engine with 163bhp, it was a van and i was 17... i dont think i need to explain the "memorys" :tongueout: lol
