Few Changes To The 200

Ever since i had my 172/182 i always said id never have a car without xenons as they're worth their weight in gold

Then i got my 200 Cup, which obviously cant have an outside temp gauge let alone xenons!

So, i went to my local Renault parts to buy some projectors. £300 odd he says, so i told him i could get them for £225 off here (its actualy £238 or something), so after abit of waggling the sums he gets them down to £226, making a few pence profit, but as i buy stull from them and im in the trade, he said that'll do

So, i got some 6000k H1 55w HIDs from HIDs Direct, with the slim ballast packs and set about fitting them tonight...

According to the camera times, it took me 1hr 45, but i kept having to nip next door for bits and pieces.

So, the results are 100% what i wanted!! A million times better and imo the best visual mod you can do to a Cup. Ill align them at work on monday so ive just aimed them low for now

Comments always welcome!

You have to swap the brackets over, but i didnt have any rivets, so i used a tiny nut and bolt which did the job

Also fitted a Citroen C5 sat nav aerial to it, now bad for £2. The radio reception is slightly affected in certain areas but generally ok

And the roof got re-wrapped this week FOC as it has split :tongueout:

Good job, I've never had xenons ( or been spoilt with them :tongueout: ) in a car so just put up with the standard lights.

I don't drive much in the dark tbh but they do look much better

Looks much better, just out of interest, what will happen come mot time? Will these pass?

Well im an MOT tester, and ive actually checked this as i had a car come in with aftermarket xenons, and i can only fail them if they're really blue - these are 6000k which is near enough OE, the chavs usually get 10000k which are blue/turquoise. Its not in the test to check auto adjusters, headlight washers etc

Plus, im only keeping it 2 years and ill put the standards back in when i sell it so wont matter :tongueout:

Proper hot mate! Must say I've never owned a car with xenons till I got the R27 and can honestly say I will always look for a car with them in the future!

That looks stunning! Honestly is my 'dream' to own the 200 in white at this moment!!
Loving the black roof aswell, ties in nicely with the rest!

I think its a well known fact HIDs are illegal unless the vehicle has self leveling adjusters and headlight washers, im not disputing that

I, on the other hand, will make sure they're 100% lined up on our beam adjuster at work so as not to blind oncoming traffic and regulary check this. Its the people that fit 10000k HIDs into their Saxo, on their drive and have them aiming at the sky that ruin it!

I agree mate, you got oe looking ones and are doing it properly

For new cars produced they have to conform to headlight washers and levellers but in my experience it's always the levellers that play up and cause the aim to go all over the place and the washers get stuck etc!
