Extra Stripey Gordini - Recaro pics added

Well finally an update

Have had the Clio sat on my drive now for about 10 weeks waiting for the t*sser to finish hydrodipping my front bumper insert and rear diffuser. In this time I've fallen out of love with the car and my eyes have been wandering. When supposedly looking for some bits for my R26 conversion I fell for another... Deposit placed this afternoon

Haven't seen it in the metal yet so hope it's as described. Will hopefully pick up later this month as I have a few things to sort out before then.

As was the case with the Gordini, no plans to mod this one (it has a few bits already done but nothing OTT). In the end my head overuled my heart and although the additional cost to buy this is similar to megging the Clio, I feel my money's safer invested here.

Will of course keep on visiting here as I love the site and I've made some great friends.

Very nice . How long have you owned the clio for ? . I get why people change as the power just isn't there with the 197/200 i don't think i will own mine long to be honest .

Had the Clio 6 months now and loved it but can't get round the meg conversion cost in my head ...

Lovely Simon.

Enjoy your new beast

Shame that one bad experience ruined it for your Clio though, but your right, safer money invested, will hold value more being r26r also!

Dont know a single thing about them.

Go on.....educate me. Bet your excited to tell me too
Will try to post a useful link up. In the meantime, think of it in Clio terms as a cup but bit more hard core, or in 911 terms like a gt3 rs. Basically a stripped out Meg R26 but you pay lots more for bits to be taken off...

Renault have removed the back seats, front foglights, rear wash wipe, radio, soundproofing, headlamp washers, heated rear window element amongst other things. 123kg has been shed from the R26: at just 1230kg, the R is about the same weight as a Clio.

What you do get is a carbonfibre bonnet, carbon bucket seats, plastic rear side windows, full harness, different suspension and bushes, shorter gearchange, Toyo R888s..... and stickers, but no stripes :worried:

The one I'm buying is mapped to 265bhp with sports cat, exhaust, induction kit and intercooler, as well as some minor brake improvements. Should be fun, especially with those tyres on these roads

R26.R!!!

Spectacular purchase!!! Lots and lots and lots of photos when you get her home please.

And you have to have the red wheels on an R!

Looks amazing mate, hope she treats you well.

Reading through your progress thread it looks like you have spent a fair bit on your clio as it stands . What sort of money was the meg conversion going to cost you .

It would have cost me a minimum £5k as I don't have the time (as I'm renovating a house) or the skill (when I raced karts bits regularly fell off) to do it myself. Just couldn't justify it. Biggest expense to date was the exhaust but this was reflected on the trade in
