Expensive forged Nimbus Turbo !

Yep after a lot of work and a lot of money I've finally got the car where I've wanted to get it for so long I got pretty good results on the dyno 297bhp 330 lbft of tourqe plenty more to come from the engine once I can afford a decent clutch pic to follow

Strong results !

And more to come from the sounds of it...

Look forward to hearing more details / seeing some pics...

It's great to hear that it's all back together and working as intended! What sort of figures are you aiming for once the uprated clutch is fitted? With talk of another possible meet at Surrey rolling road, it looks like you've finished in good time

id definatley be up for a srr meet again make u for my piss poor 200bhp last time

finally got my engine back after spending £5000 on 3 inch exhaust forged rods 83mm pistons king racing bearings head gasket water pump cambelt etc etc and a 20t ht hybrid turbo unfortunately after spending so much on the engine I ran out of cash for a new flywheel and clutch setup to handle all the extra power so ive had to limit the power to 297 and 330 lbft of tourqe to save the clutch at this power the engines barley even trying I plan to run about 350bhp once I get a clutch that can take it however as it is its a proper little rocket and ive already embarrassed a lot more expensive vehicles since ive had it back had it at santa pod at the weekend couldn't get into the thirteens as the track was far too busy ill try again on the 16th sep

as it stands ive got it to the point where it should have been all those years ago when I first done the conversion looking pretty standard even the engine bay looks pretty standard on the dyno it struggled to hold 1.5 bar of boost due to the stock 225 actuator witch ill address later on

Where can you get a 20t turbo from pls?
Did you have to modify your exhaust manifold cause this?

off ben newman i could put you in contact if you like was good quality and cheap as chips its probably a little big for most builds as its good for over 380 bhp he also does a 19t or a 22t if your feeling a bit crazy should be good for 420+ all fit the original manifold

I will give you a shout if I start feeling a bit adventurous...would go for a smaller one I think...
Thank you

Looking good mate, should have that meet soon in a few weeks. I wouldn't bother with the 22t, I reckon it will surge like a bitch due to the mis match in wheel sizes between the turbine and compressor wheel. The turbine housing and wheel is the limiting factor on the td04's

ok ive never had problems with this car getting hot untill now it used to have a clio rad was fine since fitting the megane rad having it mapped its getting hot not over heating but definatly getting hotter than it should what should I do?

I run a Meg. 250 engine Clio,320/340. I run a Meg rad, turbo water cooler/ rubber strip removed from the windscreen valance/bonnet louvres, (only opened when on track),and holes behind number plate, and fan override switch, and now, temperature sits at the second mark on the gauge.Do not completely believe it however. I have a scan gauge in the dash, and that seems to give more accurate information.Mine also had the fan the wrong way round when I got it.so no wonder it used to overheat!!!.

ok witch fan are you running megane or clio ?

witch way did your fan run did it draw air through the rad from the front or did it blow air from the bay and push it out towards the front bumper ?

think it doesnt matter which fan..just make sure it's sucking the air into the engine bay rather than the other way round..

As Pav states, either fan is ok. When fan comes on, get a piece of tissue, hold in front go rad. It should be sucked towards engine bay.If it appears to be blown away from car, its the wrong way round!.

the meg fan must be wired differently as my clio fan used to spin the right way never got hot I fit the megane fan it gets hot wireing hasn't changed so meg fan must be so in theory I swap the wires around it should spin the opposite way
