Gearboxes are woefully inadequate for use in the 197, common failures.

As for the front end knock, becoming a very common problem which isn't diagnosable as of yet ( although most speculate the top mounts ).

My only fear is that the problem will be properly diagnosed after the warranty runs out.. :/

I can assure you though, that its not the top mounts (have had front left top mount replaced, made absolutely no difference. The old one was as good as new). And seeing as how owners with coilovers also get the same hollow noise, its not the shocks & springs either.

The only way we can get to the bottom of this problem is via careful elimination of all possibilities...
