Another Supreme Motorsport build

Well the pms shifter is coming out not 100% happy with it in all honestly.

The quality is great the idea is great it’s just not for me.

( this is obviously brand new and never been on the road so it’s forsale if anyone wants this pictures to follow)

I spoke with Terry from zero point one who managed to sort me out a shifter in super speed and will
Be dispatched tomorrow!

Gone with the black base red anodised bits and a carbon shaft.

All the oil lines are done for the catch can, oil cooler and the super charger.

All of the hoses are BRMS pro swaged and lightweight hose this is our go to and it’s fantastic!

Last part to be made was a holder for our light weight battery this little thing it amazing and at only 1.1kg it’s one of the lightest about.

Well what a day not everything goes to plan [emoji35]

Got the car all built up all fluids in and got the car running (aux belt off so not running through the charger) wanted to get the car up to temp to check for leaks etc and bleed the coolant and check oil levels.

The car ran great with no issues no leaks and run really good.

Thought while it’s on the ramp will run through all the gears and make sure the box was all good this is where the issues started. The box was selecting all gears fine no problems there but there was a little random noise coming from the box.

I wasn’t happy so I made the call to drop the gearbox to investigate further.

So within 35 mins the box was back out and unfortunately looks like the quaife diff has a horrible clunk [emoji30]

Some lovely looking oil

Tomorrow il completely strip the box and both the input and output shafts so clean them all down and see what else I can see that may have caused this issue.

We have built and fitted countless boxes so I don’t think this is an issue with the way it’s been built but more of a diff issue which isn’t common from quaife.

Very strange! Surprising to get the oil so shiny so quickly too!

Unrelated…. But did you manage to fit the standard starter gear shield with that manifold?

Yep super frustrating but we will get it sorted in the next day or so it’s jus a pain having to source a new diff at short notice.

Ye heat shield fits fine

So Gutted about the box!

I Start to question Quaife's integrity tbh! as the one I have in my Megalio started "humming" after taking one kerb hard! drained the gearbox and oil was clear and not metal debris.

I'm switching to Gripper for my other builds and considering it too for Megalio next time I'm pulling the gearbox down.

Some little updates after a terrible Friday.

The box was opened full of metal flakes not a good sign!
Both the input shaft and output shaft stripped and inspected to check that there was no error in building up (we have been on a rush to get this done and mistakes can happen)

Nothing to report both shafts were fine so they got cleaned and reassembled with new bearings again.

This left the fault to be with the quaife diff (we have never had an issue like this before)

In the mean time we got a black line diff in (we could get this next day)

After a few calls back and forth with quaife they agreed to send us an exchange Unit our [emoji2956] a little to late as we had already ordered the black line replacement thinking quaife would want the old one back to inspect first.

Both diffs arrived today but we decided to try out the black line. So after re shimming the diff managed to get it built up around jobs today.

Terry from zeropointone did a super quick turn around for us and the shifter landed too and it as per usual it looks fantastic

Tomorrow I have a training day so won’t get much done but hoping to run the car up again check the box then it can head off for alignment.

The bumpers should be back from paint tomorrow/Thursday and I can finally see the end in sight.

Got the car taken over to the local tyre shop and got the alignment done and got the reading from the rear so need to work out what shims tonight and get them ordered up if I don’t have enough in stock.

While I was there I got the slicks put on the ATS wheels

The engine bay is all complete now I just need to have a play around with the springs on the bov as even when on throttle it’s still open I think it needs a stiffer spring so far Iv tried the 2 softest nuke spring and the forge yellow spring and none seem to be right yet.

[mention]PITA [/mention] has no issues with the forge bov and I do have one on stand by to swap over if needed.

One of my biggest pet hates is the terrible life on go pro cameras

So Iv hard wired them all in now and I also put a 12v usb socket by the cup holders

So in total I have 3,
1 forward facing
1 passenger car
1 rear facing camera

I need to set these back up with the go pro wireless controller.

The new trailer is far better than my old eco trailer, the build quality is 100 times better. I went with the front storage station which will hold all my spares and I can just leave them in the trailer.

I use to carry all my tools etc for track days in plastic storage boxes and it was always a pain with loading up. So I decided to make a dedicated kit box just for track days and to keep in the trailer.

The next up date will be after mapping tomorrow or the track day.

Superb - how reliable is this power on stock engine?

Well so far not great engine is fine but major fuel issues I need to sort but il get into detail over the weekend.

The idea is for me to push the engine as much as I can so i can find the limit of stock engine
