1) A couple of times when I've gone to switch the wipers on, nothing happened. Had to switch engine off and lock / unlock the doors and then fine. Would prefer just a plain simple intermittent wipe myself (less to go wrong).
Some times they work fine in auto, then it will be peeing down and they will decide to have a rest (IE. stop) then the next minute they seem to think "God it is really raining" and go into orgasm mode (IE. full speed).
I've had auto wipers before in a couple of other cars and they were pants to.
2) If I mute the radio and then switch the engine off, it sometimes seems to get confused and when I start the engine again, while the radio is still muted, I can't un-mute it (IE. get any sound). Again engine off and lock/unlock car.
3) Like shocker, the car is telling me the battery in the key fob is getting low. Odd as the car is only 18 months old ... can't remember the last time I've ever had to change one in a car (though first to admit that I don't usually keep cars that long). Even looking at the book, it took me a while to work out how to get the back off. I thought from the diagram it "slid off". But it doesn't. It flips upwards after a fair amount of force applied. Thought I was going to break it!
Shocker... the handbook says to "press a key on the remote 4 times" after replacing the battery and next time the engine starts, message should be gone.
I'll see tomorrow is this is true.
4) Lost all even numbered gears (and check auto gearbox warning message came up). Just went to pull away after being parked up. Again sorted by engine off, lock/unlock doors. Only happened the once thank God.
Garage said "it's a known problem". O'yes... funny how no one else seemed to have heard of it (GOOGLE turned up one other ... not a Clio though).
They said they had applied some updated gear box map. But for all I know, they could have just left it sat on the diagnostic machine to make it look like they had been doing something (shock horror), or maybe just re-flashed the current gear box map over top of what was already there (which was the latest map anyway ... I checked this).
Other than the above. 17k+ trouble free miles.
