    Rocky engine

I think it's the lower stabiliser that mounts behind the subframe brace that's the most important to reduce engine movement, very easy to fit just under the bolt at each end.

Ferodo ds 1.11 brake pad. Reviews?

    Thermostat

Just to check the coolant temp sensor is in the back of the thermostat housing isn't it? I checked the engine temp readout from the ecu using a scan gauge but that's just going to be the same reading the sensor gives to the dials isn't it? So if it was playing up both would be the same reading...

    Thermostat

The genuine one is the same part as euro car parts sell for half the price same stamps on the metal everything, Ive ordered a pure Motorsport 75 degree one as it looks to be of fair better quality construction I shall update on arrival.

    Thermostat

I'm not a fan of the ones from euro car parts this is what failed on me first time around and it failed rather spectacularly, I went with a genuine one thinking back to when I brought a genuine Honda stat for my old Dc2 and how superior the quality was to a pattern part but the Renault one looks...

    Thermostat

I've had no leaks, coolant is perfect level and heater run nice and warm. It was a brand new Renault oem thermostat it did look kinda cheap and nasty outta the box. Anyone had experience of using a 182 stat? this is the second one in 3 weeks that seems to have failed so I'm wondering if my car...

    Thermostat

It sits at the middle on track and hard driving, drops back down to the 1st line on the motorway and will keep temperature of just idling. It did sit perfect in the middle on the motorway for maybe the first 200 miles or so then began to drop down again. I don't really want to pay out for...

    Track/Weekend car

If your concerned about the engine not being lubricated on startup couldn't you just pull the plug off the injector loom and then crank the car a couple times to get everything lubricated before a proper start up?

    Thermostat

sorry for the thread hijack but I'm having some odd thermostat related issues. I did a track day at Bedford a couple weekends ago and the car was perfect all day didn't get hot (on the needle anyway) but on the way home it was running very low on the needle at motorway speeds. found the...

    Milltek mid silencer

could you not get in touch with a milltek dealer and just purchase a non resonated centre section for your current system? would probably save you money over buying a whole new system.

I only set mine to around 110nm, but I'm using a stud kit rather than wheel bolts. never had any issues with any loosening on track or normal driving.

Rear light & number plate light problem

have you tried cleaning up the earthing point for the rear light or tried spraying any contact cleaner/water displacer in the connector plugs? Bad earths can cause all sorts of weird faults.

    Powerflex Gearbox Mounting Bush Insert-PFF60-525

I've fitted it and it was a bit of a pain to be honest the oem mount as pretty siezed onto the stud the gearbox mount bolts onto. I ended up jacking the car up sitting it on axle stands then placing a jack about 3inches bellow the gearbox and having to give the stud a good clump using a piece of...

    Road legal track pads

I've been using carbon Lorraine rc5+ up front and yellow on the rear for the best part of a year several trips round Wales Evo triangle, blacks etc and 5 days at the ring and not once had any issues with fade, cold bite doesn't seem to be an issue neither has the dust to be fair. Not a cheap...

I'm looking to change my current suspension setup in the new year (cup shocks h&r springs) for some coilovers probably gaz golds with either simo or ast top mounts. Has anyone fitted the purple poly Arb bushes without having to drop the subframe? I had a quick look at them last time my car was on a ramp looks a right pita to change.

Discs and Pads - better option than MTEC?

I'm with greenlight (broker) and when I said I'd changed my pads and discs for non oem spec they said as long as they are for road use and don't say "not for road use" on them anywhere (like the nasty little tag I took a grinder too on my decat) then it's fine no need to notify them I'd have...
