Right.
Had my 200 cup since March 2011.
Its been modded extensively apart from engine, so here is my honest appraisal.

8x17 Oz ultraleggaras.£960.
Look awesome, the weight saving helps & also allows easy fitment of the pf brake upgrade.
Worth the expense/purchase again? Yes/yes.

Quaife atb differential.£1800 inc parts & fit.
Great on track, ok for the road.
Worth the expense/purchase again? No/no. I do lotsa track so i love it.

Kw clubsports.£2100 inc fit.
Great on road n track if tinkered with. Which is easy.
Worth the expense/purchase again? No/no. Not worth it unless you are a driving ace. Helps for sure in making you better but i would stick to the std cup stuff or at a push fit Kw 1s. (Which i did originally have).

Akraprovic exhaust evo system.£1100 inc fit.
7kgs weight saving & sounds fab.
Worth the expense/purchase again? No/possibly. Its probably 2-300 notes overpriced. But i love it.

Performance friction 330mm brake upgrade inc hel lines & uprated fluid & ds2500 pads all round.£1000 inc fit.
Amazing braking performance. You can out brake almost everything if u got the nads!
Worth the expense/purchase again? Yes/yes. Only if you do trackdays though. Ive tried all the set ups possible inc std size 2 piece etc. The pf kit is immense and is probably my fave
mod.

Remap & itg panel.£350
Get it done!
Worth the expense/purchase again? Yes/yes. Makes the car how it should be.

So there you go. Ive spent a shedload and could have purchased a track car etc instead. But its not the point as my 200 is a keeper. And will eventually be ripped apart n lightened etc.
This little article is designed to save you guys the cash after someone else has done it. No regrets but until you do it ya just dont know!
Feel free to ask qs...

Update..
So if i was to do it again, what would i get?

Oz ultraleggaras.
Adjustable topmounts from simoxino.
Akraprovic exhaust.
Pf 330mm brake upgrade & lines, uprated fluid & pads.
Remap

Total. £3500 saving nearly 4k.

Spend some of that saved on better tyres.
Ad08s, r1r's or 595 rsr's.
A few trackdays and most importantly instruction.
Still leaves enough for a great holiday or 2!

Nice write up, interesting view points on some of the items especially as you say if you would get them again.

great review - the honesty is really refreshing... not many people would spend 2 grand on a mod and be so honest as to say it wasn't something that they would do again..

Interesting read Daz! Would you mind if other people followed trend with what they've done? Could be a very helpful one-stop thread and a place to get multiple opinions on mods from different perspectives etc..

Excellent write up. Track day mods for street daily use is always an interesting debate. The clio is such a superb package 'out the box' and you could argue only a good driver could get the most out of the track inspired mods....

Nice if you can afford to do it and it's nice to know you would do it all over again

I agree, my little 182 can show up much bigger/faster cars!

I think the mods are worth it if u use them to genuinely upgrade what u have and use them on track. For example if u never go on track, forget coilovers and use springs. They are amazing out the box! I think things like exhausts, a cheeky remap are just fun to do and add to the thrill, but to get your car genuinely quicker than standard u gotta spend big bucks!

Thats where i gotta disagree Mike.
I consider myself a good driver. Ive been followed by std 200 cups & there aint much in it. Maybe a coupla secs max. Sure i can get the power down earlier n grip better, turn in quicker but ultimately its not worth the expense.
Great if racing though because times count.

The other issue is people fit these parts and they are not set up properly. Coilovers are not plug n' play and you can spend 100's setting them up, hit a pot hole on our lovely British roads and they are out again....I find sometimes, the more you spend on a mod, the more temperamental they can be....Equally, the more adverse effects they have on the parts you haven't modded.

What made you decide on getting some of the mods? For example what was the inspiration of upgrading from KW V1'a to CS's?

I see Wat your saying dude, but I meant including power like me and jonsey/fmp running boost

Easy..because the kw1s are a compromise whereas the cs are fully adjustable & designed for track.
All my mods have been based around track use & lightness.
Which will all help when it becomes a full time track beast in the future.

Kw v1's are great when your a poor student, seriously though i find the v1s a great bit of kit, enough height ajustability, very cleverly dampened, coner flat and can still absorb all the bumpy warwickshire roads!

Cheers daz

At this point seeing the cost involved and I'd cough and mutter 250 or 265 cup under my breath.

Daz your car does look and sound epic though.

I just don't think any mod on the clio justifies the cost, perhaps if you are having to renew and then upgrade is it brings the actual cost down.

Having said that I always say if your happy who cares less!

Nice work Daz

How are the Clubsports on a wet track (tyres obviously make a big difference) ?

When going for it round a soaking Knockhill my AST's were brilliant (with OZ's & R888's) but not much quicker than my standard suspension. They were that bit to stiff, it made for lots of fun though. They would have been better if I'd had a road tyre on.
