Strut Braces

There's a noticable difference when going over speedbumps & driving hard with the front strut. Next I'll buy a 22mm front ARB from Clio 200 cup racer (a friend of mine said there's a massive difference and he has Clio 200 with KW V3 & Quaife LSD), and then I might get some rear camber inserts to get some camber on the rear wheels.

Raptor...ru saying that your mate has noticed a massive difference fitting the cup racer arb? Are they not the same size?
Do you know the part no for research?

Yes, he said that.

He has a Clio 200 with a lot of modifications and uses it as a track taxi.

When I find out, I'll let you know because I want one too.

I thought they were the same too but obviusly they're not (he felt the difference, and I don't think that it was a placebo effect).

Thats my webpage

I thought so...

Just got the price for the rear 4 point strut - £72 with my 30% discount.

Probably will be getting one after front ARB. I would probably need to realocate my fuse in the back (I've put one when allocating the battery).

Ashe, what did you feel with this rear strut and what about the space in the booth? How much does it take?

i took my clio to the track with 3 of the bars (without the boot one) and it felt great.

Haven't taken with all the bars installed to the track yet, so I can't really comment as of yet.

Doesn't take too much boot space though. http://www.ice.net.my/2011/07/16/renault-clio-rs197-ultra-racing-4-point-rear-strut-bar/

And what about on the road? Does the car feel any stiffer at the rear?

I'm really thinking of getting this rear strut because it's really cheap.

Right after I buy the front ARB.

Yes, on normal driving it rolls less at the rear. (For me its noticeable as I'm on non-cup chassis).

But I felt that having all 4 bars on my non-cup suspension off sets the balance a bit (3 is okay). So I think next mod for me would be the cup springs or kw.

This happens with or without the rear ARB?

Can you take a photo of the rear ARB when on the car, but not underneath the car? I want to see if it's visible when driving (don't want to have "a Honda rear" that shows all the bars & suspension - looks "so 2000 & late" ). I'm a styler.

I just have ordered front ARB from Renault (77 11 160 155).

£102, delivery in 7 days.

Will write some more when I mount it.

Interested to see the result of this! This could be a good next mod for me after the 4 Ultra Racing braces/arb arrive in a few weeks.

That's why I'm getting one piece at the time.

Want to see every individual effect.

Next thing is rear strut, and MAYBE rear ARB - depending of how it looks from the rear and how low is it because my car already has low stance.

MEH! lol. I prefer to just get the lot! Save on postage too!

I dont think ride height will be much of an issue, they dont hang down that much like the OMP Saxo lower braces do! They seem to attach fairly flat on the bottom of the car.

Not my problem, I'm getting them from a distributer in Croatia - shipping already included anyways.

The thing is - rear ARB costs almost 1/3 of an Quaife LSD, and I really want that. TBH, I love when the rear slips - it sometimes gives me a better entrance in the curve or to be precise - I can "aim" the apex better (something from my old karting days & RWD).

Only the wait might be the problem if I like the rear strut as much as I did the front - then I would want the rear ARB - ASAP but usually I get it in 25-30 days...

this might be a daft question...but doesn't the Clio come with a Renault ARB at the front??

Yes, but I presume it's a thicker one though.

IMO the front at least on a 200 cup chassis is stiff enough, it's the back end that needs a stiffer ARB as it's a touch too planted.
