    197 / 200 Spigot Rings & wheel fitment

Hi Guys, My car is a non cup 197. I sold the original 197 wheels and bought a set of OZ Ultraleggeras which fitted straight on without spigot rings. Now i'm selling my car and looking to sell the Ultras on and put some standard 197/200 wheels back on to sell the car. My mate has a 200 cup...

    What's my 197 worth?

Wasn't quite sure where to put this topic, Mods please move this if there is a better place for it. I'm thinking about selling my Clio and getting an R26 Megane to replace it. But whether I do or not will depend on what I can sell the Clio for. PX value i've had on it was a depressingly low...

    Shock Absorber Options

My car is a non cup 197, i've got some Eibach springs for it which I debated selling on but now i'm leaning towards fitting them. My cars done 95k miles so i'm thinking it'd be a good idea to change shock absorbers and top mounts at the same time while its apart. What are my options for new...

    Brake calliper bolt torque setting?

Can somebody confirm the torque setting for the front brake calliper bolts? I've got the workshop manual and it says in Nm - 110 then its got in bracket next to that 170. So is it 110Nm or 170Nm? If someone could confirm asap that'd be great as I need to get it all back together!

Changing springs - What else do I need?

Impulse buy the other day - Set of new Eibach springs! Going to fit them over the weekend hopefully, so just checking what I need? I've got a range of tools for most jobs, and i've ordered a set of spring compressors and an offset 18mm spanner to access the top mount nut easier. Anything...

    Rear end rattle - Annoying!

Hi guys, Had a rattle on the rear of my car for a while now, which I thought was just the bootlid. Its got gradually worse and is now at the point where its beyond annoying. So I took the plastic trim off and adjusted the catch nice and tight using trial and error. Went for a drive, rattle...

New wiper linkage - On a Sunday?!

So my wipers seized today without warning, then whilst stripping it down to clean and regrease the linkage - I sheared the linkage. To be honest it was so badly seized I probably needed a new one anyway. The problem i've got now is, my car is my daily drive and I need it for work on Monday...

    First trackday in my 197

Had my first taste of track driving last week at a novice only trackday at Oulton Park. Absolutely loved it - Just a shame I can't afford to do them more often! Car performed brilliantly, couldn't believe the grip of the AD08's i've got on and the brakes were strong too. No sign of fade from...

    Which Braided Lines?

Hoping to do a track day in August. Already have DS2500 pads and i'll service the brakes before the trackday. I've got some Motul RBF600 fluid to go in which i'll probably get a garage to do, but i'm wondering if it'll be worth me having braided lines fitted while i'm at it? Then if so which...

    Had my 197 remapped!

Well, had my car remapped at RS Tuning today after sorting out the group buy on the remaps. Think i've been the first down there out of all of us so far. Had the car serviced and the newly developed 197 cat back system from Scorpion fitted too. The new system for the 197 is the same as the 200...

    197 Servicing around Manchester?

Cars due a service, its on about 82k so as far as I know its just an oil and filter change and it had the big 72k service before I bought it. Could do it myself but my car has perfect and very thorough service history, so I need to continue this trend really. The cars always gone to either...

    Swapping heat shield between diffusers?

The diffuser on my 197 has been melted by my aftermarket tips. So i've got a replacement i'm gona put on and bin the tips. But how is the heatshield held to the diffuser? As I need to remove it from mine and install it to the new one. A quick look underneath looks like some sort of rivets...

Behold the practicality of a Clio

Went to pick up a supposedly dismantled bench today for my Uncle. Drive 50 mins there to find that the seller hasn't managed to dismantle it because it was welded together  We were all convinced it was a wasted trip, but thought we'd give it a try before I left. Had to strap the...

New wheel cleaner - What to buy

Although I thought my black ultraleggeras would be better cleaning wise as they wouldn't look dirty - They're actual worse, as the satin finish looks really dirty with even the slightest layer of dust/dirt on them. At the moment i'm using AG clean wheels with the AG wheel cleaning brush to...

    Clio 200 diffuser, on a 197

Is the diffuser a straight swap between the 2 cars? How much should I expect to pay for a used 200 diffuser? The diffuser on my 197 has been melted quite badly by the exhaust tips i've fitted. Not sure why because they've been fitted for months, but only in the last few weeks has the melting...

Badly seized brembo pins - What are my options...

Well today I spent 3 hours on my second attempt at removing my brake pins and still no luck. If anything i've made the pins worse. Bare in mind my calipers are in especially bad/neglected condition. Probably the worst most will have seen (not my doing - only had the car a couple of months) see...

Best fast road pad for £100

My brakes are in a bad state at the moment, not been serviced in a long time and looking at how bad the standard pads are seized, I think its pretty likely the pads are bent and the material is probably cracked. So i'm gona change the pads - But to what? I know the DS2500 come thoroughly...

Value of my used Raider wheel and/or tyres

My raider wheels are suffering from a bit of lacquer peeling, nothing major but it makes them look at little tatty as the unlacquered areas seem to attract dust and they constantly look dirty. So i'm looking getting them refurbed and powdercoated anthracite. For this on a same day drive in/out...

    Albi 197 + Civic Type R

Had a great time at the Northwest Paul Walker remembrance cruise near the Trafford Centre tonight. Massive turn out and not all just chavved up Corsa B's and mopeds like I expected. Literally all sorts of cars there from Skylines, 650bhp sleeper audis down to nice hot hatches like Astra VXR's...

    Show me your flaps!

Mudflaps that is ;) Thinking about getting some mudflaps for my car, because now were into winter and the roads are full of salt/grime/leaves, I can't wash the car enough! I'm washing it every weekend at the moment and after one drive the sides of the car - The bottom of the doors and the...
