Yiannis' Albi Blue R27 - Toning down...

welcome to the red/orange club Yiannis..they do look the part and im sure you get quite a lot people admiring your car even more than before :thumb:

i must say that my wheel cleaning sessions are trully hated..very difficult to clean the Ultras..

also a very nice lamp you have..gotta say it rather awesome.:thumb:

ok so the bad boys are on, and I'm absolutely loving them. They truly look awesome and even my gf is complimenting them who at first she was like....eeer..red wheels?

I'm stunned by the looks, I honestly am to the point that I'll be selling the ultras, and I don't think the pics do them justice. The car has so much presence on the road, it's like a little subtle race car. I parked it behind tottenham court road on Saturday evening and I can assure you, it does stand out from the 'crowd'. I couldn't stop looking at windows' reflection whilst driving lol

Bonus bits.

1. The wheels are so easy to clean and seal, day and night with the ultras.
2. The gap between the spokes is bigger than the ultras which means you are showing off the BBK and of course the bespoke 2 piece aluminium rear hub:wink:(yet to be fitted though) Also, I would presume better heat dissipation.
3. The garage guys who fitted them were impressed with them, apparently they balanced straight away. I suppose you get what you pay for.
4. Reasonably lighter than the ultras, not a day a night difference though judging by hand lifting them. Didn't have the chance to weigh them as I don't have scales at home:worried:
5. These being red they contrast with the tyre and show their size indeed as opposed to the black ones.

Enough talking, some pics and of course some more next week after the track day!

I LOVE THESE Yiannis! Also great use of the damaged wheel. More than a little envious & looking forward to seeing the car at Spa next year

That looks fantastic Yiannis, really good! As Shuv points out, goes so well with the overall look of the car and the way it is driven over those European roads! Loving the new lamp too, ingenious

Absolutely stunning Yiannis! They look better than I thought (and I knew they'd look awesome), and I'm sure you thought also!

And yes, that is art work right there  Love it!

Great video Yiannis! Nice to see the different camera angle, I like to have a play around with different angles, makes the videos much more interesting.
Not sure what the use to edit the videos. I use race render, but it would be nice if you could turn the sound off on one of the videos, sounds like it's playing the audio from both cameras.
Snetterton in the wet that's what dream a made off, nice little catch in the first clip keeping your foot in it!

Not bad at all mate, but not ideal for the conditions for sure. Contis for example is a much better solution for the wet, not to mention the sublime uniroyal rainsports.

Love the video buddy. Going really well. Again !! Tyres look better than I imagined in the wet from the stories I’ve heard....

And nice to hear your thoughts of the Contis I’m the wet. I’m not on your level: but agree in thinking my 5’s excel in damp conditions. Road only mind !

Thanks matey:smile:

Indeed, when I was running Contis and at the Alps (road reference) and on a wet day the car was flying, it would grip and grip and that was back at the 5100 setup which was much stiffer than the existing (and stiff is not good for wet). People are knocking contis but I always liked them for the road.

A video of the evening session, a bit drier but nowhere near the levels where you can make the most out of the tyres. A bit of a playing with a new Focus RS on wet tyres, probably trying out his drift mode:smile: Good man!

Cheers guys, it was an overall fun day, as every TD is I guess.

i suppose that gripper diff is a big help in those conditions.
good driving mate.

Cheers Peter, it is indeed when you are silky smooth, in cases when I wasn't the ESP would kick in before they diff locked. But on those conditions I wouldn't switch it off, better safe than sorry!
