Yiannis' Albi Blue R27 - Toning down...

And that is awesome, b

I wish I could afford it mate even though it sounds so tempting!
I've got to sort out my wheel, then cambelt service, then track day beginning on November and to top these up I've also book a rally day with Phil Price Rally school, and that wasn't cheap!

I think that's enough car related expenses for now lol
Bedford on the 4th November Yiannis?

@Yiannis197 hi best way across to Monza by road and the Ferrari Museum please

Kev, a friend of mine did it a few months back and he absolutely loved it. He also drove a 488 and he came back looking for a supercar lol. He ended up buying a Huracan though haha make sure you don't end up buying one yourself matey instead of the new Megane:smile::smile:

Right, so.

They say every cloud has a silver lining so here I am ordering a new set of Alleggeritas in red. And as if that was not enough I also ordered a new ultrallegera to complete my 3 piece set and either fit my semi slicks and keep them as a spare or simply sell the set and get back some cash.

I've been wanting to change the colour of my ultras for years, I guess I did it the expensive way. Worth mentioning that I do prefer the look of the ultra over the Alleggerita however a change is always welcome, and these are nearly 1.5 Kgs lighter than the ultras which is immense.

What I don't like on Alleggertas is the fact that they look smaller than they actually are, that is because the spoke does not run all the way to the rim. Mine being red should hopefully create a good contrast with the tyre so it won't be that bad.

Obviously they make these on order so I'd have to wait about 3 weeks. Oh well, something to anticipate for right?

Cheers guys, I do believe that they'll look awesome, it's an R27 anyway, has to be loud (or so I think!)

Chris, I got them straight from Italy, it was much cheaper than buying them from here. I also have a multi currency card which helps with the exchange rate as well (managed a 1.14 to euro).

cant wait to see them fitted Yiannis..and dont forget,,they will be much easier to clean!!

Story of my life mate! The time I've spent cleaning those ultras..

Thanks mate.

If you are thinking OZ mate let me know, I can pop the question to this guy for a price and I can use my card as well to save you a few quid for the exchange. Just imagine, I bought a set and a spare ultra for less than they would ask here for just a set!

Amazing purchase! I'd love some lightweight wheels!

Thanks Tom, they do make a massive different on the car mate, steering, turn in, suspension, braking, acceleration the lot.

If you could give me a ball park how much I’d be looking at roughly - whether here or PM, that’d be a useful start, thanks very much yiannis!

haha awesome, go for it Chris, you know you want to!

The price of the Alleggeritas was £1350 euro delivered and 270 delivered for one ultra. That is 238 British money per ultra delivered, this - taking the current nasty exchange rate - is actually cheaper than what I paid 4 years ago.

For all 5 wheels delivered I paid 1620 euro or £1420, the exact price demon tweeks retail a set of Alleggeritas plus delivery of course. I did ask around and in fact I called every single OZ retailer here in the UK and price varied from £1420 to £1600 lol.

The guy is an Italian ebay seller whom I approached for the Alleggeritas as he doesn't advertise them there. He popped the question to the factory and he got back to me with pricing and waiting times. His username is felaps10.

Hope that helps mate, I can send you his phone number as well should you wish to talk to him:smile:

Envious Yiannis! Red Alleggeritas are my favourite wheels. Good saving in unsprung weight too. As you say every cloud has a silver lining. Your car just gets more and more awesome.
