Y-Pipe - Map - Flat spot

HI all,

Tried search but found no answer to my question,

Getting the manifold flexis replaced in a few days, the exhaust company offers to do the Y-Pipe at the same time, I have little to none experience in this field, never have had any cars exhaust modified before lol, here goes then.

If I fit the Y-pipe will I get a flat spot if I dont map it?

If not, do I need to map it to get any gains or will the standard car still benefit from the conversion?

The current setup is a standard exhaust and an itg panel filter.

I think it is a lot of effort and expense, which doesn't really achieve much, this is what I have heard anyway mate

look at it this way its designed to run with the restriction of the cats in the exhaust...remove these and the fuelling is all to cock - ie its easier to get rid of exhaust gases so the fuelling can be upped to take advantage - if not flat spot and running too lean!

thanks for the advice, went for just fixing the flexis, car should be ready tomorrow, cant wait to drive again not farting from the exhaust sounding like an old beater
