Y pipe fitted.

fitted my Y pipe this weekend, was a bit of a nightmare seeing as everything but the shocks need to come off the front end to get at it BUT the result was worth it, car sounds soooooo much better now. the flat spot is shocking now with being fully decat but im booked in for a map in 2 weeks to cure it! just the one pic of the pipe fitted because you all know what the underside of the clio looks like

nice!!!they do sound epic:drool:

So has rs tuning improved its maps then? Because last time i checked they couldnt map out the flatspot from cat backs, sport cats and single decats, my sports catted cat back still had a flatspot althought better then it was. Is this still the case.

whys that? mines fully decatted and i have no issues after a map at RS Tuning which is where 200gordini is taking his so nothing to worry about

cracking job by the way mike, very tidy

cheers scott! yea looks like you have a different piece where the lambda is.

strangely my flat spot was a fair bit worse when i was just running a ktec cat back and decat pipe, when the Y pipe was first fitted it was obviously mapped again and i had "no flatspot" what so ever, just recently though i've fitted a bigger maxogen and i now have a very very slight flatspot between 3 and 4000rpm when cruising around 75mph (weird how its moved up the rev range),this goes though once the car is fully warmed so its not an issue,i'll prob have the map tweaked in time though if i'm passing RS Tuning

it will be running very weak....i wouldnt go thrashing it to much until its on the rollers and tweeked!

Good luck curing it with a map ....

Throwing bricks and running away again......

Put you big wooden spoon away captin slow .....

This is what I had been lead to believe a tuner told me it was impossible to map out but then their word has since been proven not to be worth allot but since then I had also heard it was not fully curable when removing both cats although it can be made better.

All I meant was to my knowledge when removing both cats the flat spot is not curable it can be improved on no doubt hence my comment good luck Curing it with a map.

I really do hope that they can map it out now with a new map, as no doubt the sound coupled with no flat spot would be brilliant.

lol

Nice to see you actually post more than a single sentence for once. You almost contributed then, careful.

Would a Y pipe make any difference on just a standard system? or would be better just adding a sports car or d-cat instead?

Why did renault never make the exhuast so can easily remove parts like bolt it together instead have to weld most stuff if want change anything :thumb1:

Because the car is brilliant in OEM format and I guess making the car tuneable was low on their priority list, especially when the power gain are so minimal.

Can't wait to here it mike, fair play for doing it, if I was 100 percent sure I was getting to keep the Clio I would follow suit! A Clio is not a great family car!
